Job summary

PeopleStrong in India is seeking a Software Development Engineer - 3 (AI) to build and scale core AI capabilities powering PeopleStrong AI Studio, a governed, enterprise-grade agentic platform rather than a simple chatbot.

You will own design and delivery of production-grade AI services and agent runtimes with reliability, security, and performance guarantees, collaborating with Principals, senior engineers, PMs and backend teams.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of software development and AI-enabled platform experience.
• BE/BTech/MCA from a Tier I college or equivalent.

Role: SDE-3 (AI)

As an SDE-3 (AI), you will build and scale the core AI capabilities that power PeopleStrong AI Studio—a governed, enterprise-grade agentic platform, not a chatbot. This role exists to translate AI intent into reliable, secure, and production-ready systems that operate on trusted HR data. You will own the design and delivery of production-grade AI services and agent capabilities with clear reliability, security, and performance guarantees. You will build and evolve agent runtimes, orchestration flows, MCP-backed tools, and AI service APIs, influencing platform standards used across all future agents. You will work closely with Principals, Senior Research Engineers, PMs, and Platform/Backend teams within the Production and Prototype pods.

Educational Qualifications: B.E/B.Tech/MCA from Tier I College

Must-Have Skills

• Strong backend engineering skills in Python and/or Java with production ownership experience
• Hands-on experience building AI/ML-powered services (LLMs, embeddings, classifiers, or hybrid systems)
• Solid understanding of REST/async APIs, data pipelines, and stateful services
• Experience shipping systems with auth, RBAC, audit logging, and observability
• Ability to debug and optimize latency, cost, and reliability in AI-augmented workflows

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with agentic workflows, orchestration frameworks, or tool-calling architectures
• Familiarity with vector databases, retrieval systems, or search infrastructure
• Exposure to MLOps, eval frameworks, or model monitoring in production
• Experience working in SaaS platforms with multi-tenant constraints
• Prior work in HR tech, fintech, or compliance-heavy domains

Ideal Candidate

• Comfortable operating at the boundary of AI logic and core backend systems
