Job summary

Uplers is seeking a Software Development Engineer for Backend Java development in an office-based role in India. The candidate will design, implement, and optimize backend services using Java, Spring, Hibernate, JSP, and Servlets. Focus areas include security, data modeling, and scalable API design.

Responsibilities include building robust APIs, integrating with databases, and ensuring performance. A strong grasp of RESTful services, MVC, and DevOps practices is required to deliver high-quality

Qualifications

• Proven Backend Java Developer with strong Java, Spring and Hibernate experience.
• Good knowledge of Java EE components: Servlets, JSP, SQL and ORM (JPA/Hibernate).
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON/XML data formats, and MVC patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications and APIs using Java.
• Implement business logic, data models, and algorithms to support features.

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications and APIs using Java.
• Implement business logic, data models, and algorithms to support application features and functionality.
• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of backend systems.

• Debug and resolve issues and bugs identified through testing and user feedback.
• Collaborate with the QA team to develop and execute test cases and ensure application quality.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Backend Java Developer.
• Strong proficiency in Java programming language and related frameworks and libraries (e. g., Spring, Hibernate).
• Good Knowledge of Java, Servlets, JSP, SQL, XSD, JavaScripts, Ajaxm JXL, JPA, and EJB3
• Good Knowledge of HTML / CSS, Web services, JUnit, TestNG, Mockito, JavaScript, and SQL.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts and design patterns.
• Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL, and ORM technologies (JPA2 Hibernate).
• Experience with test-driven development.
• Familiarity with web services, RESTful APIs, and JSON/XML data formats.
• Knowledge of version control systems, such as Git.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Proficient in using version control systems, such as Git, and familiarity with CI/CD practices.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Familiarity with concepts of MVC, JDBC, and RESTful.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e. g., Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform).
• Understanding of security principles and best practices in backend development.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e. g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization (e. g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of NoSQL databases (e. g., MongoDB, Cassandra) and caching mechanism.
