Job summary

AMD is seeking a Software Development Engineer to advance performance in U-boot and OP-TEE, focusing on ARM-based SoCs. You will work across AMD teams to optimize drivers, security, and boot processes, contributing to embedded software across next-gen processors.

The role requires strong C programming skills, deep debugging expertise, and a collaborative mindset to resolve complex issues during ASIC/hardware bring-ups. The candidate should thrive in a fast-paced hardware-software environment.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years in U-boot/OP-TEE/Linux/embedded drivers.
• 7–10 years in C programming.
• Strong system-level knowledge of ARM-based SoCs.
• Solid debugging skills and problem-solving ability.
• Experience with Petalinux, Vivado and Vitis is a plus.
• Experience with source control (GitHub) and profilers is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architecture teams to improve future AMD products.
• Apply data-driven approaches to optimize targets and benchmarks.
• Stay updated on software/hardware trends, esp. algorithms/architecture.
• Lead development of U-boot and OP-TEE in the project scope.
• Participate in new ASIC and hardware bring-ups.
• Debug and fix issues; research efficient alternatives.
• Foster technical relationships with peers and partners.

Software Development Eng --OPTEE/c/U Boot

The Role

AMD is looking for a specialized software engineer who is passionate about improving the performance of key applications and benchmarks.

The Person

The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with AMD’s architecture specialists to improve future products
• Apply a data minded approach to target optimization efforts
• Stay informed of software and hardware trends and innovations, especially pertaining to algorithms and architecture
• The engineers primary development activity is to work on development of U-boot and OP-TEE.
• Participating in new ASIC and hardware bring ups
• Debugging/fix existing issues and research alternative, more efficient ways to accomplish the same work
• Develop technical relationships with peers and partners

Preferred Experience

• 7 to 10 years experience in U-boot driver development or OP-TEE driver or Linux Drivers Development or embedded driver experience.
• 7 to 10 years experience in C programming.
• Good System Level knowledge of ARM based SOCs.
• Good debugging skills.
• Usage of scripting and AMD (classic Xilinx) Tools like Petalinux, Vivado, Vitis is an as added advantage
• Experience with software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source code control systems (GitHub) and profilers is a plus
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills

Academic Credentials

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
