Reserve Bank Innovation Hub is building the Digital Payments Intelligence Platform (DPIP) to enable real-time payment intelligence, transaction monitoring, and data-driven insights across India's digital payments ecosystem.

The role focuses on designing and implementing high-performance backend systems in Rust, ensuring low latency, reliability, and scalability for real-time data processing and analytics. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive architecture decisions.

It contributes to the Digital Payments Intelligence Platform (DPIP), focusing on real-time data processing, transaction intelligence, and scalable backend systems. The role is critical as India’s digital payments ecosystem continues to grow, requiring systems that are interoperable, low-latency, and reliable—supporting better decision-making across the ecosystem.

What are we looking for

• Strong proficiency in Rust and experience building backend systems or APIs
• Experience with distributed systems, scalability, and performance optimisation
• Solid understanding of data structures, concurrency, and system design
• Familiarity with messaging systems, caching, and backend tooling (e.g., Kafka, Redis)
• Ability to work with ownership in a collaborative engineering environment
