A leading technology firm in Bengaluru is seeking a Senior Software Developer to enhance and maintain the ZONOS platform. This role involves designing scalable applications and contributing to backend services using modern technologies like Kotlin and Spring Boot. The ideal candidate has strong coding practices and experience in Linux environments, along with advanced skills in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. You will work in an agile team to deliver innovative features and ensure application reliability and scalability.

Overview

As a Senior Software Developer, you will be part of an agile development team responsible for the maintenance, enhancement, and ongoing development of the ZONOS platform. You will play a key role in building scalable, high-performance applications and delivering innovative features using modern backend and frontend technologies. Leveraging your experience, you will contribute to designing robust solutions that ensure reliability, scalability, and low-maintenance operation under high-load customer environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and further develop the ZONOS platform by implementing new features and improving existing functionalities.
• Design, develop, and optimize scalable and distributed applications using modern technologies.
• Develop backend services using Kotlin, Spring Boot, and relational database systems (RDBMS).
• Build and integrate distributed systems using technologies such as REST, gRPC, and Apache Kafka.
• Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of applications deployed in customer environments.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including development, project management, and customer support.
• Evaluate and adopt new tools, frameworks, and technologies to maintain technological competitiveness.
• Actively participate in Agile/Scrum processes and contribute to continuous improvement of development workflows.
• Write clean, maintainable, and high-quality code following best practices.

Experience or familiarity with the following technologies is required or highly desirable:

• Backend: Kotlin, Spring Boot
• Messaging/Communication: Apache Kafka, gRPC, Protobuf
• Databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, RDBMS
• DevOps/Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, Liquibase
• API Design: REST, Swagger/OpenAPI

Your profile

• You write maintainable code and have advanced knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
• Your English language skills are advanced to professional in speaking and writing and you are experienced in developing on Linux
• You have at least basic knowledge of working with a Version Control System (preferably Git)
• Our stack includes the following languages/technologies you can play around and get familiar with: Kotlin, Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, Protobuf, gRPC, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Liquibase, Docker, Kubernetes
• You have experience with TypeScript, Swagger/OpenAPI and any web framework (we use Angular), test framework (we use Jest) and CSS framework (we use Bootstrap) – all these would be a plus
