Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data warehouse solutions using MySQL, AWS Redshift, and other enterprise database platforms.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL code leveraging advanced DDL/DML, CTEs, analytical window functions, and set-based processing techniques.
• Perform query performance tuning by analyzing execution plans, optimizing inefficient queries, and resolving concurrency issues such as deadlocks.
• Build automation and data-processing solutions using Python, with additional scripting support through Shell scripting where applicable.
• Troubleshoot data quality issues, investigate data anomalies, and support healthcare risk modeling and analytics platforms.
• Leverage modern data engineering technologies, including AWS services and Databricks, to enhance scalability and operational efficiency.
• Act as a technical lead by driving engineering best practices, conducting code reviews, and mentoring team members.

Preferred candidate profile

• 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, and Advanced SQL development, with strong expertise in MySQL, AWS Redshift, or similar enterprise database platforms.
• Proven ability to design, optimize, and troubleshoot large-scale data pipelines, including query performance tuning, execution plan analysis, and database optimization.
• Strong programming skills in Python for automation, data processing, and engineering solutions; experience with Shell scripting is an added advantage.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services and Databricks architecture for building scalable, cloud-based data solutions is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex data challenges, support analytics platforms, mentor team members, and drive engineering best practices in a collaborative environment.
