Job summary

Persistent is seeking an experienced SOC Manager in Pune to lead a team of security professionals and oversee the SOC for client engagements. You will drive service delivery, ensure effective detection and response to threats, and maintain strong client relationships.

You will mentor SOC analysts and engineers, manage security tools, and continually improve SOC processes to meet SLAs and regulatory requirements. This role emphasizes leadership and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or information security (or equivalent).
• 10–13 years of cybersecurity experience with focus on SOC operations and incident response.
• Proven track record managing SOC teams and delivering security services to clients.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of SOC analysts, engineers, and specialists.
• Oversee delivery of SOC services and ensure SLAs.
• Coordinate incident response activities including triage, investigation and remediation.
• Engage with clients to manage relationships and reporting on security posture.

About Position

As a SOC Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of security professionals and managing all aspects of the Security Operations Center for client engagements. You will oversee the delivery of SOC services, ensure the effective detection and response to cybersecurity threats, and maintain strong client relationships. Leveraging your extensive experience and leadership skills, you will drive excellence in service delivery, implement best practices, and contribute to the overall success of the client's security program.

What You'll Do

• Client Engagement Management
• Serve as the primary point of contact for client engagements, building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
• Understand client requirements, objectives, and expectations, and ensure that SOC services align with their needs. Team Leadership and Management
• Lead and manage a team of SOC analysts, engineers, and specialists, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to clients.
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to team members to foster professional growth and development. Service Delivery Oversight
• Oversee the delivery of SOC services, including monitoring, detection, analysis, and response to security incidents.
• Ensure that SOC operations adhere to service level agreements (SLAs) and meet client expectations for performance and quality. Incident Response and Threat Management
• Lead and coordinate incident response activities for client engagements, including triage, investigation, and remediation.
• Manage the handling of security incidents according to established procedures and protocols. Security Tool Management and Optimization
• Manage and optimize security tools and technologies used within the SOC environment, ensuring they meet the needs of client engagements.
• Evaluate and recommend new security solutions and technologies to enhance SOC capabilities.
• Process Improvement and Best Practices: Continuously assess and improve SOC processes, procedures, and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Implement best practices and industry standards to ensure the highest level of service delivery. Client Communication and Reporting: Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on SOC operations, incident response activities, and security posture.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports and presentations to clients on SOC performance and security metrics. Compliance and Risk Management
• Ensure that SOC operations comply with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement controls to mitigate security risks for client engagements. Training and Development
• Identify training needs and opportunities for skill development within the SOC team.
• Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and certifications to enhance technical and professional competencies.

Expertise You'll Bring

• SIEM Management Penetration Testing (Good to have) Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 10 to 13 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on SOC operations, incident response, and client management.
• Proven track record of managing SOC teams and delivering security services to clients.
• Strong technical expertise in security tools, technologies, and best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC certifications are preferred.
• Educational background: Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
