Job summary

Firstmeridian Global Services is seeking a Cybersecurity / SOC Analyst L1 in Hyderabad to monitor security alerts, investigate events, and support vulnerability management. You will escalate issues to senior teams and assist with patching and audits.

Freshers with security training or certs may be considered. Role requires a Bachelor's in CS/IT/Cybersecurity and familiarity with SIEM tools, firewalls, and EDR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or related field.
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts from SIEM, Firewall, Antivirus/EDR and other security tools.
• Analyze and investigate basic security alerts and suspicious activities.
• Identify incidents such as malware, phishing, unauthorized access, brute-force attacks.
• Elevate critical issues to senior security teams.
• Maintain security incident records and prepare basic reports.
• Support security patching and remediation activities.
• Assist with security audits and compliance activities (ISO 27001, SOC 2).

Job description

1.SUMMARY

We are looking for a Cybersecurity / SOC Analyst L1 to support our Information Security and Security

Operations team. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring security alerts, identifying potential

security incidents, performing basic investigation, supporting vulnerability management, and escalating

security issues to the appropriate teams.

2. EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or a related field, Relevant cybersecurity

certifications are an advantage.

3. TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Basic knowledge of Cybersecurity and Information Security
• Good understanding of Networking concepts TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, VPN and common

ports Basic knowledge of Firewalls and Network Security

• Basic understanding of Windows Server and Active Directory
• Knowledge of security threats such as malware, phishing, ransomware and brute-force attacks

Ability to understand and analyze security logs

• Good troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Good communication and documentation skills

5. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor security alerts from SIEM, Firewall, Antivirus/EDR and other security tools. Analyze and investigate

basic security alerts and suspicious activities. Identify potential incidents such as malware, phishing,

unauthorized access, brute-force attacks and suspicious network activity. Perform initial incident analysis

and elevate critical issues to senior security teams. Monitor and analyze firewall and security logs. Support

endpoint security and antivirus/EDR monitoring. Assist with vulnerability scanning and tracking of security

vulnerabilities. Support security patching and remediation activities. Maintain security incident records and

prepare basic reports. Assist with security audits and compliance activities such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2.

Follow security policies, SOPs and incident escalation procedures. Coordinate with Network, Server,

Application and IT teams for security-related issues.

6. EXPERIENCE

0–2 years of experience in SOC, Cybersecurity, Network Security, IT Security or related roles.

Freshers with relevant cybersecurity training, certifications or hands-on lab experience may also be considered.
