Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Chennai district seeks a seasoned Snowflake Platform Architect to design and operationalise enterprise Snowflake environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will lead platform engineering, governance, security, and DevOps to build scalable data architectures.

Responsibilities include greenfield environment setup, cloud infrastructure provisioning with Terraform, and establishing monitoring with Datadog, CloudWatch and Azure Monitor.

Qualifications

• Seasoned Snowflake Platform Architect with expertise in enterprise-grade Snowflake environments across AWS, Azure and GCP.
• Experience in platform engineering, governance, security, DevOps and scalable data architecture.
• Strong ability to design and operationalise greenfield Snowflake workspaces with multi-environment support and cost controls.

Responsibilities

• Snowflake Environment Setup (Greenfield): design and deploy workspace architecture with multi-environment support and Unity Catalog architecture.
• Cloud & Infrastructure Setup: provision cloud resources and configure AWS, Azure, GCP services using infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Data Governance & Security: implement Unity Catalog, RBAC/ABAC, data lineage, masking, encryption, secrets management; establish lakehouse and data ingestion pipelines.
• DevOps & Platform Automation: implement CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments and integrate repos and orchestration frameworks.
• Performance & Cost Engineering: define cluster strategies, optimise queries and manage scaling and costs.
• Monitoring & Operations Setup: set up monitoring, alerts and observability with Datadog, Azure Monitor and CloudWatch.

Seasoned Snowflake Platform Architect with expertise in setting up and operationalising enterprise-grade Snowflake environments from scratch across AWS, Azure, and GCP. Strong experience in platform engineering, governance, security, DevOps, and scalable data architecture.

Core Responsibilities

1. Snowflake Environment Setup (Greenfield) Design and deploy Snowflake workspace architecture; multi-environment (Dev/QA/Dev); VNet/VPC setup; cluster policies and autoscaling; Unity Catalog architecture.
2. Cloud & Infrastructure Setup Provision cloud resources; configure AWS, Azure, GCP services; implement infrastructure as code using Terraform.
3. Data Governance & Security Implement Unity Catalog; RBAC/ABAC controls; data lineage, masking, encryption, and secrets management. Set up Lakehouse architecture; enable Iceberg; establish data ingestion and transformation frameworks.
4. DevOps & Platform Automation Implement CI/CD pipelines; automate deployments; enable repo integration and orchestration frameworks.
5. Performance & Cost Engineering Define cluster strategies; optimise query performance; manage cost controls and scaling.
