Weekday (YC W21) in Pune and Bengaluru, India, seeks a Mid-Senior Data Engineer to design scalable data pipelines on Snowflake and migrate legacy databases. You will work with DBT and Airflow, model data with Star/Snowflake schemas, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust data platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or data pipelines.
• Strong expertise with Snowflake data platform.
• Hands-on experience with DBT and Airflow.
• Proficiency in SQL and data modeling recommended.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines and architectures using Snowflake.
• Lead migration from legacy databases to Snowflake.
• Build and optimize ELT frameworks with DBT.
• Develop and orchestrate workflows with Apache Airflow.
• Model data with Star and Snowflake schemas.
• Create ingestion pipelines for structured and semi-structured data.
• Create reusable data validation, reconciliation, auditing, and monitoring frameworks.
• Optimize Snowflake objects: Virtual Warehouses, Clustering Keys, Materialized Views, Streams, Tasks.
• Prepare technical design documents and migration runbooks.
• Perform code reviews and enforce engineering best practices.
• Assess and migrate data from Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, Netezza, DB2, SAP HANA, on-prem warehouses.
• Design migration strategies: full/incremental loads, CDC, historical data migration.
• Coordinate cutover planning and post-migration stabilization.
• Provide L3 support for Snowflake platforms and pipelines.
• Monitor production data workloads and troubleshoot failures.
• Lead RCA and implement permanent fixes.
• Support incident, problem, change, and release management.
• Collaborate with business users to resolve production issues.
• Ensure SLA adherence and operational commitments.
• Participate in production releases and deployments.
