The Snowflake Data GovernanceSME will lead the design and implementation of the Pacific Data Platform, withprimary responsibility for ensuring the Pacific data platform iscompliant with data governance best practices. The role requires strong hands-on experience securing enterprise datawhile supporting scalable analytics, reporting, and application requirements.
Experience: 8+years of overall experience in data architecture, data engineering, orenterprise data platforms, with substantial hands-on Snowflake experience.Proven ability to lead solution design, data modelling, integration, andimplementation of scalable enterprise platforms.
Strong hands-on expertise in defining governance frameworks coveringdata ownership, stewardship, classification, metadata, lineage, and dataquality. Proven experience implementing Row Access Policies (RAP), Role-BasedAccess Control (RBAC), role hierarchies, least-privilege permissions, dynamicdata masking, and tag-based masking. Ability to enforce access at database,schema, object, row, and column levels.
Experience developing interactive Streamlit applications for analyticsand conversational data access. Hands-on knowledge of Cortex Analyst andsemantic modelling for natural-language queries, Cortex Search for informationretrieval, and Cortex Agents for orchestrating analytical and search capabilities.Ability to evaluate response accuracy and implement appropriate access controls forAI applications.
Advanced SQL skillscovering complex queries, stored procedures, incremental processing, and querytuning. Strong Python experience for data processing, API integration, andautomation. Ability to analyze query profiles, optimize warehouse usage, andbalance performance with cost.
Experience protecting sensitive and personally identifiable informationthrough classification, masking, and controlled access. Ability to conductaccess reviews, monitor user activity, maintain audit evidence, and implementcontrols aligned with organizational privacy, retention, and compliancerequirements.
Experience building reliable ingestion and transformation pipelinesusing Python, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, or equivalent tools. Strongunderstanding of full loads, incremental loads, Change Data Capture (CDC), datavalidation, error handling, and pipeline monitoring.
Familiarity with AWS services such as S3 and IAM, including secureintegration with Snowflake. Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, and CI/CDpipelines to version, review, test, and deploy database objects, securitypolicies, and application changes across environments.
Bachelor’sor master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, ora related field. Relevant Snowflake, cloud, or data architecture certificationsare preferred.
Abilityto explain architecture, governance, security, and AI concepts clearly totechnical teams and business stakeholders.
Ability to collaborate with data owners, security teams, applicationteams, and business leaders to align requirements and resolve priorities.
Ability to define standards, evaluate design decisions, mentorengineers, and guide teams toward secure and maintainable solutions.
Ability to manage multiple initiatives, dependencies, and timelinesacross distributed teams.
