Job summary

Tranzeal in Hyderabad seeks a Snowflake security and data governance engineer to implement RBAC, datemarking, encryption, and related controls while building Streamlit apps within Snowflake and Cortex AI. You will tune warehouses, manage budgets, and enforce data privacy across environments.

Responsibilities include RBAC design, audit-ready security, performance tuning, data layout optimization, replication, and DR planning.

Qualifications

• Implement RBAC, datemarking, encryption and related security controls.
• Build Streamlit apps within Snowflake and Cortex AI.
• Tune virtual warehouses and manage auto-suspend/resume and scaling.
• Create budgets and alerts with Resource Monitors.
• Design and maintain RBAC hierarchies and handle permissions.
• Enforce data privacy via network policies, Row-Level & Column-Level Security.
• Investigate sluggish workloads using ACCOUNT_USAGE and Query Profile.
• Optimize data layout with clustering keys and materialized views.
• Manage Time Travel, Fail-safe and data lifecycle.
• Set up database replication and cross-region failover.
• Oversee Snowflake migrations, cloning, and DDL promotion across DEV/QA/PROD.
• Automate admin tasks and alerts with Python or shell scripts.

• Implementing security controls, including role-based access control (RBAC), datemarking, encryption, and related capabilities.
• Building Stream lit applications within Snowflake and working with Cortex AI.
• Cost& Compute Management Warehouse Sizing: Tuning virtual warehouse clusters, adjusting auto-suspend/resume times, and setting up scaling policies to balance query speed with credit consumption.
• Resource Monitors: Creating budgets and alerts to monitor account-level and warehouse-level usage, preventing unintended budget overruns.
• Security &Governance Access Control: Designing and maintaining Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) hierarchies, assigning privileges, and troubleshooting permission issues.
• Data Privacy: Enforcing network policies, Row-Level Security, Column-Level Security (masking policies), and data classification tagging.
• Performance Tuning Query Optimization: Investigating sluggish workloads using tools like ACCOUNT_USAGE views and the Snowflake Query Profile.
• Data Layout: Optimizing table structures by configuring clustering keys, materialized views, and the Search Optimization Service.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery Data Lifecycle: Managing Time Travel retention periods and Fail-safe configurations.
• Replication: Setting up database replication and failover across multiple cloud regions or accounts to maintain high availability.
• Deployment &Operations Environment Management: Overseeing database migration to Snowflake, object cloning, and promoting DDL changes across DEV, QA, and PROD environments.
• Automation: Automating administrative tasks and alerts using Python or shell scripts
