Job summary

Chubb India is seeking an SME in Actuarial Pricing to join the Actuarial department in Bangalore. The role focuses on pricing for Casualty lines and requires collaboration with the North America Casualty team on large account pricing for Primary/Excess Casualty business, including Auto, GL and Workers’ Compensation.

The candidate should have an analytical degree, progress in actuarial exams, and 5+ years of P&C pricing experience, with strong analytical and communication skills to work with

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent in an analytical discipline; actuarial track encouraged.
  • Pursuing actuarial exams with good progress.
  • Minimum 5 years in Property & Casualty actuarial work; large account pricing advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with North America Casualty team on large account pricing.
  • Apply pricing methodologies including experience rating and exposure rating.
  • Participate in pricing meetings and address questions on analyses and indications.
  • Partner with underwriters to review outputs and communicate pricing outputs and recommendations.
  • Contribute to ad hoc analyses and longer-term pricing initiatives.
  • Maintain, enhance, and document pricing tools, templates, and processes.

  • Role Overview -Pricing for Casualty lines
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the North America Casualty team on core pricing responsibilities, with a focus on large account pricing for Primary/Excess Casualty business covering Auto, GL and Workers’ Compensation classes
  • Apply Casualty pricing methodologies, including experience rating, exposure rating, and simulation techniques as necessary to support pricing analyses and underwriting decisions.
  • Participate in pricing meetings and effectively address questions related to pricing analyses, assumptions, and indications.
  • Partner closely with underwriters to review and communicate pricing outputs, key assumptions, and recommendations.
  • Contribute to ad hoc analyses and longer-term pricing initiatives.
  • Maintain, enhance, and document pricing tools, templates, and processes.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in an analytical discipline such as Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, etc
  • Pursuit of actuarial exams to qualify as an actuary and having good exam progress.
  • 5+ years of relevant actuarial work experience in Property & Casualty insurance; experience in casualty lines and large account pricing is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, Python, SQL, Snowflake) and actuarial tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, ability to manage competing projects, meet deadlines and work independently.
