Job summary

Airbus India Private Limited invites a Skywise Foundry Developer to design and implement Palantir Foundry‑based applications for Skywise. You will translate business needs into data engineering solutions, ensure quality and provide guidance on best practices across the team.

You will work with cross‑functional stakeholders to optimize data workflows, contribute to knowledge sharing, and help scale the platform while maintaining security and governance standards.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in data engineering, data analytics, data science or software application development.
• Hands-on Palantir Foundry experience with code repositories, pipelines and ontology.
• Strong skills in PySpark, Python, SQL, JavaScript/TypeScript.

Responsibilities

Skywise Foundry Developer Job Description

Skywise is a revolutionary digital platform for the aviation industry, developed by Airbus in partnership with Palantir. Skywise uses modern, cutting edge technologies to leverage the hidden value of data and to support aviation actors in taking data-driven decisions and optimizing their daily operations. Skywise does so by ingesting over 150,000 data sources daily and organizing them into an universal data model that we call the Skywise Ontology. On top of the Ontology, Skywise provides its customers with access to a vast array of powerful tools that allows them to drill down, explore data, build interactive dashboards and front‑ends, perform advanced data analysis using Machine Learning, build predictive models, carry out simulation scenarios across complex models mimicking real‑world industrial situations and so much more.

As a Skywise Foundry Developer, you will be responsible for designing and building solutions for Airbus on Skywise (based on Palantir Foundry) by understanding the business requirements. You will suggest/define best practices and golden rules that ensure the quality of the applications delivered by the team. You will capture learnings and share knowledge in the team.

Qualification & Experience

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Overall Experience: 2-5 years of experience in data engineering, data analytics, data science or software application development
• Skywise Expertise: At least 2 years of hands‑on experience on Palantir Foundry Experience in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders transnationally Past experience in Aviation/manufacturing domain is preferred
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Pyspark, Python, SQL, Javascript, Typescript
• Strong hands‑on working experience on Palantir Foundry tools like Code repository, Pipeline builder, Access management, Ontology, Object explorer, Workshop, Templates, Marketplace, Quiver, Slate etc Prior working experience on Aircraft sensor data and time series data processing in Skywise preferred
• Ability to implement optimizations at scale on Pyspark or Java‑based decoding pipelines in Foundry Code Repositories to translate raw, compressed, or binary formats into clean, structured datasets
• Knowledge and experience of AIP tools on Foundry Strong ability in leveraging AI tools in development and operational workflows Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database systems Strong understanding of data governance and security aspects Knowledge on some of the following products/tools: Git, Confluence, Agility, Jira etc Excellent problem‑solving skills and an ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team Prior working knowledge on AWS is an advantage Willing to work in CET timezone based on project need Strong willingness to continuously learn and explore

Key Responsibilities

• Technical responsibilities Partner with the Product Owner/Project Leader to prioritize, groom, and maintain the sprint backlog within an Agile/Scrum framework
• Responsible for designing, developing, testing, documenting, supporting and operating Skywise (Palantir Foundry) based applications that involve data engineering, data analysis and visualization Design and develop high quality scalable and reliable solutions Design comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and end‑to‑end test cases covering complex data workflows and UI interactions
• Strong ability to learn and adopt AI technologies in the development Log, track and prioritize system defects using Agility or ServiceNow and resolve them as per the defined timelines Support in peer reviews and take responsibility towards the quality of the delivered applications
• Develop awareness of relevant Quality and Project management practices and demonstrate compliance Support in realizing new business opportunities by working closely with the relevant stakeholder Continuously look for opportunities to increase/optimize efficiency of operations and ensure meaningful closure Capture learnings and share knowledge within the team Contribute towards the knowledge management for the applications managed in the team
• Stakeholder Management Ability to quickly learn and understand new business verticals to translate their needs into technical requirements for development Build and maintain healthy relationship with all the business stakeholders Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills
