Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Site WHS Manager at the Delhi Fulfillment Center to partner with operations, driving safety and ergonomic standards in a fast-paced environment.

You will lead a safety team, conduct risk assessments, analyze incident trends, and implement Kaizen-based improvements to reduce risk across processes and protect Associates, while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required
  • Experience applying lean principles and process improvement is preferred

Responsibilities

Job description

The Site WHS Manager will partner with the site operations team at a Fulfillment Center to execute company WHS policies and ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and central regulations. Leveraging lean principles and kaizen methodology, this role will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in processes, ensuring a safe and healthful working environment for all Associates. The incumbent must build trust and confidence with the Operations Team, influence change through comprehensive risk assessments and data-driven safety analysis, and serve as the subject-matter expert on safety, environmental, and ergonomic standards.

Key job responsibilities
  • Partner with site operations leadership to implement and sustain WHS policies across the Fulfillment Center.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Amazon Safety Policies and local/state/central regulations (Factories Act, 1948; Building & Other Construction Workers Act; state-specific rules).
  • Measure site performance against published safety policy requirements; identify gaps and develop corrective action plans with defined timelines.
  • Analyse safety metrics; review weekly and monthly incident trends to allocate resources to highest-risk areas.
  • Conduct frequent site safety audits to identify non-compliant equipment and processes; implement solutions to eliminate exposure and prevent recurrence across the network.
  • Audit record-keeping practices and system entries to ensure compliance with global safety standards and local regulations.
  • Audit workplace organisation and Associate behaviours to ensure training, auditing, and scoring methods are accurate and consistent.
  • Deliver on-time, quality safety projects aligned with Operations priorities.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor the site safety team comprising Safety Specialists, Safety Coordinators, and Onsite First-Aid Associates.
  • Create and execute leadership development plans for direct reports; set clear expectations and provide regular, constructive feedback.
  • Engage with Associates and leaders at the site to identify safety programme improvement opportunities; maintain open communication on progress and resolution.
  • Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained on their responsibilities under each policy; audit the quality, delivery, and effectiveness of all required safety training.
  • Identify and incorporate best practices into company safety standards for continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment
