Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Bengaluru seeks a Site Reliability Engineer III to drive reliability of mission-critical systems through code and cloud infrastructure. You will configure, monitor, and optimize applications and their infrastructure and contribute to end-to-end operations.

The role emphasizes AI-assisted incident triage, CI/CD automation with Jenkins, Git, AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS), and collaboration with development teams to onboard new apps, ensure high availability, and reduce toil.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on site reliability engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
• Experience with AI-enabled capabilities in SRE workflows and data sensitivity awareness.
• Ability to validate AI-assisted recommendations before applying changes.
• Experience in DevOps, CI/CD, Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins and pipeline setup.
• Extensive AWS experience (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC) and IAM/security basics.
• Scripting skills (Python, Bash) for automation; Docker and Kubernetes on AWS.
• Knowledge of monitoring/logging tools (Splunk, CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Prometheus, CloudTrail).
• Strong communication for end-user interaction; openness to open-source tools.

Responsibilities

• Uses enterprise AI capabilities to accelerate incident triage, troubleshooting, and post-incident analysis.
• Identifies reliability risks from operational signals and prioritizes improvements tied to SLOs.
• Set up and support CI/CD pipeline, code repository, merge workflow, and deployment processes.
• Collaborate with development teams to onboard new applications to CI/CD processes.
• Execute, build and deploy across environments with weekly build calendars and tests.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Collaborate to integrate AWS services and manage scalable AWS infrastructure.
• Monitor and optimize system performance to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Analyze build infrastructure capacity and suggest improvements to management.
• Provide L1/L2 PROD support and participate in PROD issue calls for triaging.

As a Site Reliability Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank, you will solve complex and broad business problems with simple and straightforward solutions. Through code and cloud infrastructure, you will configure, maintain, monitor, and optimize applications and their associated infrastructure to independently decompose and iteratively improve on existing solutions. You are a significant contributor to your team by sharing your knowledge of end-to-end operations, availability, reliability, and scalability of your application or platform.

Job responsibilities

• Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate incident triage, troubleshooting, and post-incident analysis, validating outputs and handling operational data according to sensitivity and security requirements.
• Applies enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to identify patterns in operational signals that indicate reliability risk or recurring toil, prioritizing reuse-first improvements tied to SLO outcomes.
• Set up and support CI/CD pipeline, code repository, merge approval workflow, and code build and deployment processes.
• Collaborate with development teams to gather requirements for onboarding new applications to the CI/CD process.
• Execute, build and deploy across environments based on the weekly scheduled build calendar and Perform smoke/sanity tests for deployed applications and troubleshoot issues arising from these tests.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using AWS CloudFormation and Terraform.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate AWS services into applications and manage scalable AWS infrastructure using best practices
• Learn the architecture of all applications to effectively troubleshoot issues and Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability
• Periodically analyze hardware and software capacities of build infrastructure and recommend improvements to the management team.
• Monitor production alerts and optimize system performance and execute necessary runbook actions , ensuring high availability and reliability .
• Provide basic L1 & L2 support for PROD issues and communicate with end users and Participate in PROD issue calls and assist in triaging issues.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on site reliability engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
• Working knowledge of using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support SRE workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity
• Ability to validate AI-assisted operational recommendations before applying changes, escalating when uncertain and following data sensitivity requirements
• Experience in DevOps and in Java, CI/CD pipeline setup, Git, BitBucket, and Jenkins and experience in continuous integration and source control tools, with experience in CI/CD pipeline setup using Jenkins.
• Extensive experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC) and strong knowledge of AWS IAM, security groups, and network configurations.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation tasks and Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes on AWS).
• Experience in monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Splunk, CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Prometheus) and logging solutions (e.g., AWS CloudTrail) and Experience in code management tools like GIT, BitBucket, and SVN.
• Experience in monitoring and responding to production alerts, providing L1 & L2 support, and strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with end users and team members and Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services.
• Advanced knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines, and understanding of architecture and design across all systems.
• Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals and Passionate about building an innovative culture and understanding industry-wide technology trends and best practices.
