Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Site Quality Manager for a major project in India. You will plan, lead and monitor all quality activities on site, ensuring compliance with project and customer requirements and coordinating with HVDC teams and subcontractors.

You will drive quality plans, documentation, audits, training and KPI reporting, while ensuring calibrated testing equipment and seamless handover at project milestones. Relocation will be required.

Qualifications

• Technical / engineering / quality management education – minimum bachelor’s degree.
• 5+ year construction quality site experience or in operations.
• Power or energy industry experience.
• Track record in Change Management and managing internal projects in large organizations.
• Experience in process management in project business, preferably energy or automation.
• Continuous Improvement experience and L6S Belt.
• Strong communication, results orientation and fast execution.
• Test coordination experience and ISO9001 knowledge.
• Certified auditor with knowledge of construction codes / standards.
• Willing to relocate to the project site location.
• Computer skills and knowledge of completion systems.
• Proficiency in spoken & written English.

Job Description:

For the Bhadla - Fathepur project located in India and role based at site in Bhadla. This is a Full time role based at site.

The SQM will plan, organize, lead and monitor all Quality work during site execution to ensure we satisfy customer expectations. This includes works undertaken internally in addition to the work performed by our subcontractors and/or partners as required for the project. The Site Quality Manager reports functionally to the Global Manager for Site Quality. During site execution the SQM reports operationally to the Site Manager and dotted to the PQM.

How you’ll make an impact

• Review of contractual and local requirements applicable to site quality.

• Review lessons learnt from previous projects and relevant project plans (e.g SQP, SMP)

• Review Contractor Quality Plans to ensure alignment with the Project Quality Plans and the customer requirements.

• Based on reviews and discussion with stakeholders identify and follow up risks and mitigations to ensure we fulfill site quality expectations.

• Set up and educate site personnel in the quality management system including the completion system at site. Site Quality Execution Process.

• Provide Quality Induction training to the site personnel.

• Execute and follows up the Quality Plans, master test plan and completion system status for site activities as required.

• Review quality documentation for correctness and completeness prior approval (e.g test certificates, checklist, etc.).

• Ensure that the quality control plans (ITP, ITR etc) and any erection documentation (Drawings, procedures, etc.) provided by HVDC are effectively communicated to the site management team and the contractors.

• Ensure that Quality Control processes are fully implemented and continuously monitored.

• Ensure that inspection / testing during Civil, Mechanical & Electrical erection and Commissioning are con-ducted, documented, checked and validated as per the quality control system.

• If required support the Organization and supervision acceptance testing and/or approval by customers, third parties and governmental authorities whenever required at site.

• Ensure that the completion system, deviation, NCR (Non-Conformance Report) System, CCRP system and any other Quality tools are fully deployed at site and that the users are adequately trained with the support of the completion manager.

• Ensure that all testing and measurement equipment used at site are listed and calibrated and that the associated calibration certificates are available.

• Follow up completion system at site having an overview of status in regard to inspections, certifications and all outstanding works including punch list.

• Provide Quality related site KPIs to the stakeholders whenever required and follow-up onsite inspections and support the management of punch‑out items.

• Provide Quality inputs to the site management to support on‑time and in‑budget execution of the project.

• If Required support the performance of Incoming inspection of goods at site and report any deviations according to the project regulations.

• Follows up that handling, storage of delivered material and equipment are in accordance with the manufacture’s guidelines.

• Ensures that the ITP/ITR are applied by the sub‑contractor and its subcontractors including the compliance with the Hold points and Witness points.

• Ensure site quality documentation is generated, distributed, updated and archived in accordance with the Management system and completion system requirements.

• Support the Deployment of Site Quality audit program (including contractor audits and internal audits).

• Participate in internal and contractor quality audits as per the Site Quality audit program.

• Assist and coordinate any planned external site related audits.

• Monitor contractor compliance with Quality requirements and follow up contractor corrective actions when‑ever required.

• Follow up the adherence and governance of the quality management system at site.

• Support CoQP reporting processes at site according to HVDC processes.

• Support in identifying lessons learnt.

• Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background
