Job summary

Haleon is seeking a Site Operations Lead for its greenfield manufacturing facility in Indore. You will oversee operations during design, commissioning, qualification, start-up and ramp-up, ensuring safety, quality and reliable supply.

You will build and lead the operations team, manage budgets and productivity, and drive continuous improvement with Industry 4.0 and daily management systems.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of industrial experience in manufacturing.
• At least 5 years in FMCG, consumer healthcare, pharma, or regulated manufacturing.
• Experience leading Manufacturing and Packaging operations and start-ups.
• Experience with greenfield facilities, commissioning, validation, and tech transfer.
• GMP, EHS, risk management, planning, OEE, cost control, CI systems.
• Lean, Six Sigma, TPM or equivalent is desirable.

The role will provide operational leadership during design, commissioning, qualification, start-up and early stabilization, and subsequently lead manufacturing operations to deliver safety, quality, service level, cost and people engagement objectives. The role will partner closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, HAPS, EHS and Project teams to establish operational systems, build workforce capability and ensure successful commissioning and ramp-up of the manufacturing site.The incumbent will drive operational excellence through disciplined execution, capability development, performance management and continuous improvement while creating a safe, compliant and high-performing manufacturing culture.Build a future-ready Operations organization that delivers safe start-up, reliable supply, competitive performance and sustainable growth. **Key Responsibilities:** * Own and deliver site performance across Safety, Quality, GMP Compliance, Cost, Service, Productivity, and People Development.* This role joins the project at an early stage to ensure operational requirements are incorporated into the facility execution. It leads operations and technical teams through a vertical startup. Then owns performance of the people and system once the site is operational.* Lead manufacturing and packaging operations, ensuring achievement of production, OEE, cost, waste, and service targets (ATS adherence to schedule and ATP adherence to planning).* Drive a strong safety-first and quality culture, ensuring compliance with EHS, GMP, regulatory, and data integrity requirements.* Build, coach, and develop high-performing teams through capability building, succession planning, and performance management.* Accountable for manufacturing budgets, MCC / PCC conversion costs, labor productivity, and delivery of productivity commitments.* Lead operational readiness, commissioning, qualification, validation, start-up, and stabilization of manufacturing operations.* Partner with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and technical teams to ensure reliable product supply and operational excellence.* Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks while ensuring sustainable business performance Complexity/Scope* Integrate Haleon Operational Excellence strategies from inception by working closely with Site Director.* Integrate industry 4.0 capabilities* Establish effective daily management systems (HAPS), performance reviews, visual management, and KPI governance.* Champion continuous improvement, loss elimination, problem-solving, automation, and digital manufacturing initiatives **Qualification and Experience:** * Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, Science, Manufacturing, Operations or a related discipline; an MBA/PGDM is desirable* Overall 15+ years of industrial experience in manufacturing sector.* At least 5 years of relevant experience in FMCG, consumer healthcare, pharmaceuticals, food or another regulated manufacturing sector.* Demonstrated experience leading Manufacturing and Packaging operations, production performance, workforce capability and cross-functional delivery.* Experience supporting a greenfield facility, major expansion, commissioning, qualification, validation, technology transfer or manufacturing start-up is strongly preferred.* Strong understanding of GMP, EHS, operational risk management, production planning, OEE, cost control and continuous improvement systems.* Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, make risk-based decisions and translate project milestones into operational readiness and sustainable performance.* Relevant certification or practical experience in Lean, Six Sigma, TPM or another recognized operational-excellence system is desirable. **Soft Skills*** Strong people leadership capability to build, engage and hold a large frontline organization accountable.* Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to influence Project, Engineering, Quality, EHS, Supply Chain and senior leaders.* Hands-on, collaborative and decisive leadership style with strong execution and change-management capability.* Excellent oral, written and presentation skills, with clear communication from shop-floor teams to senior leadership.* Strong analytical thinking, structured problem solving, risk-based decision-making and commercial awareness.* High resilience, ownership and ability to deliver in a fast-paced greenfield and start-up environment.* Proficiency in MS Office and working knowledge of SAP, Power BI, OEE, problem solving and digital manufacturing performance systems. **Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)*** Safety, Quality & Compliance – Waste/ Scrap%, CAPA Closure Effectiveness, Deviation Reduction, GMP / EHS Compliance Adherence, Safety Observation Closure %, Zero LTI.* Operational Readiness & Performance - Commissioning and start-up milestones, schedule adherence (ATS), OEE, throughput, right-first time (RFT), Cost (PCC, MCC), Waste, Customer Service Level (% OTIF) and productivity.* People & Organization - Workforce readiness, drive shop floor associate ownership, role qualification, engagement, leadership capability, succession strength and a sustainable ownership culture.* Unplanned Downtime (hrs./month),Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), AM / PM and maturity assessment and Haleon Operational Excellence pillar drive and maturity assessment.
