Your resume and cover letter, tailored to exactly what they’re hiring for.
HyPrix is building fast, attritable payload delivery systems and seeks an SI/PI Engineer to ensure high-speed interfaces and power networks on avionics boards meet signal quality, timing and noise margins. You will run simulations, review schematics and layouts, and guide design fixes with the hardware and PCB teams.
The role centers on BB analysis of Ethernet, DDR4, LPDDR4, and eMMC interfaces, plus PDN impedance, stack-up validation, and post-layout verification using Ansys tools and industry
HyPrix Aviation GSTIN - 29AAHCH4130N1ZA | Full time
At HyPrix, we're building attritable payload delivery systems for autonomy. Things that fly fast, we're enabling them with conscious software. Replicating the capabilities of expensive conventional frontline systems, we're building the cheapest micro and cruise missile systems on the planet. Built for a war of attrition, built for the era of software-defined warfare, built to cater to the front lines of battlefields where no man should stand in the future.
The SI/PI Engineer makes sure that the high-speed interfaces and power delivery networks on HyPrix avionics boards meet their signal quality, timing and noise margins. The position holder runs the simulations, reviews schematics and layouts, and advises the hardware and PCB layout teams on design fixes.
The boards use Ethernet (1G and 2.5G), DDR4, LPDDR4 and eMMC interfaces, and must operate in harsh avionics environments.
Pre-layout analysis. After schematic release and before layout, simulate each critical interface with IBIS models: topology, termination, drive strength and timing. Define the layout constraints: impedance, length and skew, spacing, via and reference plane rules.
Schematic reviews. Review schematics for SI and PI: terminations, AC coupling, decoupling and power rail filters.
Stack-up. Define and check the stack-up and impedance targets with the PCB layout team and the fabricator.
Post-layout simulation. Extract each routed board in Ansys SIwave and Ansys Electronics Desktop (EDT). Simulate reflections, crosstalk, insertion and return loss, eye diagrams and BER.
Memory interfaces. Analyse DDR4, LPDDR4 and eMMC signal quality and timing margins, with the on-die termination and drive strength settings.
Power integrity. Simulate PDN impedance against the target impedance, and calculate the decoupling capacitor values, quantities and positions. Check DC IR drop on the critical power rails.
Layout reviews. Review layouts for return paths, plane splits, via transitions and decoupling placement. Give clear fix recommendations, and track each fix until it closes.
Simulation models. Get IBIS, S-parameter and SPICE models from the component vendors, check their quality, and keep them in a controlled model library.
Report generation. Generate a simulation report for each board: setup, models, results, margins, pass or fail status and recommended design changes. Write the SI/PI design guidelines for HyPrix boards.
Simulation data control. Save the simulation projects, models, results and reports in the PDM/PLM system, linked to the board and its revision.
Correlation and failures. Compare simulation results with bring-up and lab data, and update the models and the design rules. Support the root-cause investigation of SI, PI and EMI failures.
HyPrix is a lean team with no rule book. Each person receives an end goal tied to a real product, and decides how to achieve it.
The SI/PI Engineer decides how HyPrix flight electronics meet their signal and power margins, and works directly with the engineering leadership.
