Overview

The State Health Society, Bihar (SHS Bihar) has released the 2025 notification for the engagement of Senior Laboratory Technician and Laboratory Technician positions under the National Health Mission (NHM).

A total of 1,075 vacancies have been announced across various health programs including NTEP, NVHCP, NPCDCS, IDSP, Blood Bank/BBSU, HWC, and NUHM.

Positions are contractual for 11 months with the possibility of extension based on performance and program approval, up to age 60.

Eligibility

• Age: 21 years (minimum) to 37 years (maximum for UR male). Relaxations apply to reserved categories as per government norms.
• Educational qualification as specified below.
• Work experience: as required for the post.
• Application fee: ₹500 for UR/BC/EBC/EWS/Outside State, ₹125 for SC/ST/Female (Bihar Domicile) and PwD (40% or more).

Educational Qualifications

• Senior Laboratory Technician: M.Sc. in Medical Microbiology, Applied Microbiology, General Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Biochemistry (with or without DMLT) and at least 2 years experience in TB laboratory tests.
  OR
  B.Sc. in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Botany, or Zoology with DMLT and at least 3 years experience in TB laboratory tests.
• Laboratory Technician: 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) plus Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT) or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) from a recognised institution.

Age Limit Criteria by Category

• UR/EWS (Male): 37 years
• UR/EWS (Female): 40 years
• BC/EBC (Male & Female): 40 years
• SC/ST (Male & Female): 42 years
• PwD Candidates: up to 10‑year relaxation
• Departmental Employees: up to 5‑year relaxation
