Job summary

Jobitus in Raipur is seeking a Turbine Operator to ensure continuous, safe power generation and optimal equipment performance in thermal or captive plants. Qualifications

• ITI in Electrical or Mechanical trade or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
• 1–5+ years experience operating steam/gas turbines or in thermal/captive plants.
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, governor/hydraulic systems, high-pressure steam lines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular field rounds and monitor DCS, gauges for speed, load, temperature and pressure.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks including lubrication, oil/seal oil and cooling system management, minor tightening.
• Diagnose malfunctions, assist in emergency shutdown or tripping recovery, coordinate with boiler and control room teams.
• Adhere to safety rules, including LOTO for maintenance isolation and PTW for hazardous tasks.
• Maintain accurate logbooks and shift handover notes.

A Turbine Operator is a technical role responsible for the safe and efficient operation, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of steam, gas, or industrial turbines and auxiliary systems in power plants

Job Overview & Objective

• Role Summary: Ensure continuous, optimal power generation and equipment performance while strictly managing high-temperature and high-pressure machinery.

Work Environment

• Work Environment: Thermal power stations, captive power plants (CPPs), and heavy industrial units (such as steel or manufacturing plants).

Key Responsibilities

• Field & DCS Operations: Conduct regular physical rounds and monitor control boards, automation systems (DCS), and gauges for speed, load, vibration, temperature, and pressure.

• Maintenance & Lubrication: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including equipment cleaning, oil/lubrication checks, seal oil and cooling system management, and minor mechanical tightening.

• Troubleshooting & Tripping: Diagnose malfunctions or unusual vibrations, assist in emergency shutdown or tripping recovery scenarios, and coordinate with boiler and control room teams.

• Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to plant safety rules, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) for maintenance isolation and PTW (Permit to Work) for hazardous tasks.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate logbooks and shift handover notes regarding instrument readings and operational events.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: ITI in Electrical or Mechanical trade, or a Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.

• Experience: Hands-on experience operating steam/gas turbines or working in a thermal/captive power plant (typically 1 to 5+ years depending on field vs. DCS roles).

• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of thermodynamics, governor/hydraulic systems, high-pressure steam lines, and engineering drawings.

• Physical & Shift Attributes: Ability to work rotating shifts (including nights), tolerate high-ambient noise and warm turbine-hall environments, and maintain physical stamina for climbing platforms
