Job summary

Caterpillar in Chennai, India, seeks a Service Information Developer to create and manage service content for global customers.

You will work with ACM, 3D modeling tools, and cross‑functional teams to deliver accurate service materials for new product introductions and engineering changes, while adhering to standards. Travel up to 10% internationally may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 1 to 2 years or equivalent accredited associate degree with a maximum of 3 to 4 years of job-related experience in creating/handling Product support information or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop Service information for delivery via the Service Information System (SIS) to dealers and customers worldwide for servicing Caterpillar Machines.
• Utilize the ACM (Advanced content management) system and graphics tools to develop Service Information and graphics supporting New Product Introductions (NPI) and regular Engineering changes.
• Perform complex research of engineering information using 3D Models in Vismockup/Creo/ICIDO, PRWB and SIS2.0 and collaborate with Product groups and Engineering teams globally for service information content development.
• Ensure all service information is created accurately, participate in process improvement efforts and follow authoring standards.

Job Summary:

What You Will Do:

BACKGROUND/ EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 1 to 2 years or equivalent accredited associate degree with a maximum of 3 to 4 years of job-related experience in creating/handling Product support information or equivalent.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

• Preferably BE/BTech - Mechanical/Production/Automobile/Electrical Engineering
• Experience repairing/servicing Caterpillar products or any Earth moving products.
• Good knowledge of reading and interpreting Engineering drawings, experience in 3D modeling tools.
• Self-driven, able to complete the task given with less supervision.
• Good mechanical/electrical aptitude.
