Job summary

Matchpoint Solutions, a fast-growing global IT and engineering services firm, is seeking a Senior Wireless Network Engineer to design, deploy, and support an enterprise Cisco WLAN. You will lead technical efforts, act as escalation point, and collaborate across sites to ensure reliable wireless services.

The role requires deep Cisco wireless experience, site surveys, and strong documentation. Hybrid/remote options may apply for global projects; 5+ years in enterprise networking is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in enterprise networking with Cisco wireless design and multi-site support.
• Experience leading Level III/IV wireless escalations across sites.
• Strong documentation and ITIL change/incident experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the wireless architecture and design standards (HLD/LLD).
• Deploy and migrate sites to regional C9800 controllers in FlexConnect mode.
• Conduct site surveys and validate BoMs for deployments.
• Lead complex troubleshooting and Cisco TAC cases.
• Plan changes, upgrades, and handover to operations; mentor teams.

Title: Senior Wireless Network Engineer

Location: India (100% Remote)

Employment Type: Contract (12+ Months)

Availability: Immediately or 2 weeks

Shift: PST Overlap (2pm to 11pm IST)

Role summary

Design, deploy, and support an enterprise Cisco WLAN built on FlexConnect access points managed by cloud-hosted regional Catalyst 9800 controllers. Acts as the technical lead and Level III/IV escalation point for wireless across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Own the wireless architecture (HLD/LLD, topologies, golden config standards)
• Deploy and migrate sites to regional C9800 controllers in FlexConnect mode
• Run predictive and on-site surveys, and validate BoMs
• Lead complex troubleshooting and Cisco TAC cases
• Plan and execute changes, upgrades, and hypercare handover to operations
• Train and mentor operations teams and partners

Required knowledge and skills

• Controllers: Catalyst 9800 (IOS-XE) with its tag and profile model (policy, site, and RF tags, Flex profiles), HA SSO and N+1
• FlexConnect: local switching, central vs. local authentication, VLAN mapping, standalone/WAN-failure behavior, CAPWAP over WAN
• RF: 802.11a/g/n/ac/ax (Wi-Fi 6), RRM, channel and power planning, roaming
• Site survey: Ekahau (Sidekick) and AirMagnet
• LAN/WAN: Catalyst switching (VLAN, STP/RSTP, HSRP, StackWise), OSPF, BGP, and SD-WAN basics for AP-to-controller reachability
• Operations: ITIL change and incident practice, strong documentation

Preferred

• CCNP Enterprise/Wireless (or equivalent experience)
• C9800-CL in public cloud (AWS/Azure)
• Catalyst Center (DNA Center) assurance
• Experience: 5+ years in enterprise networking, including 2+ in Cisco wireless design and Level III+ support in multi-site or global environments.
