Job summary

World Wide Technology is seeking a Senior Wireless Engineer to design and deploy enterprise wireless solutions across on-premises and cloud-managed environments. You will work with Juniper Mist and Cisco ecosystems, crafting RF designs and security architectures for complex deployments, including RTLS and outdoor mesh, while producing detailed network diagrams.

The role requires 7+ years of wireless and wired networking experience, strong communication skills, and certifications across Cisco,

Qualifications

• Must have experience designing and deploying Juniper Mist wireless solutions
• Thorough understanding of the 802.11 protocol and amendments
• 5-7+ years' experience in wireless network engineering
• 5-7+ years' experience in wired network engineering
• Experience designing and deploying Cisco AireOS and IOS XE (Catalyst 9800) wireless solutions
• Experience designing and deploying Cisco Embedded Wireless Controller (EWC)
• Cisco Certification (CCNA, CCNP Enterprise, CCIE Enterprise)
• Ekahau Certification (ECSE Design, ECSE Troubleshooting, ECSE Advanced)
• Must have excellent communication skills, writing skills, and the ability to work with team members at all levels

Responsibilities

• Design and deployment of on-premises and cloud-managed enterprise wireless solutions for customers across verticals.
• Design and deployment of advanced wireless solutions including voice, RTLS, and outdoor mesh.
• Design and deployment of wireless security solutions including rogue detection and WIDS/WIPS.
• Produce RF designs, perform RF assessments, and troubleshoot wireless networks using spectrum analysis, protocol analysis, and packet capture.
• Solid understanding and experience with wired networking protocols in support of wireless services (802.1Q, DHCP, IP routing, etc.).
• Solid understanding of AAA, 802.1X, and RADIUS as it pertains to enterprise wireless services.
• Develop detailed network diagrams and low-level design documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deployment of on-premises and cloud-managed enterprise wireless solutions for customers across the Commercial, Healthcare, Government, and Manufacturing verticals
• Design and deployment of advanced wireless solutions including voice, real-time location services (RTLS), and outdoor mesh
• Design and deployment of wireless security solutions including rogue detection and WIDS/WIPS
• Produce RF designs, perform RF assessments, and troubleshoot wireless networks using spectrum analysis, protocol analysis, and packet capture
• Solid understanding and experience with wired networking protocols in support of wireless services (e.g., 802.1Q, DHCP, IP routing, etc.)
• Solid understanding of AAA, 802.1X, and RADIUS as it pertains to enterprise wireless services
• Solid understanding of wireless QoS for wireless voice and media services

• Experience performing migration from one OEM to another
• CWNP Certification (CWNA, CWSP, CWAP, CWDP, CWNE)
• Aruba Certification (ACMA, ACMP, ACMX)
• Juniper Mist Certification (JNCIA-MistAI, JNCIS-MistAI)
• Fortinet wireless experience is a bonus
