Job summary

RINA is seeking a Senior Wind Consultant to join its Renewable Energy Engineering Division in Delhi. You will provide engineering advice on wind projects globally, lead junior engineers, and contribute to owner’s engineer activities and technical due diligence.

Hybrid working arrangements are available, and applications from across India are welcome. Key competencies include wind energy feasibility studies, design review, grid integration, and independent site inspections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of technical renewables experience, preferably wind.
• Fluent English communication with clients and stakeholders.
• Strong feasibility studies, design review, grid integration and due diligence skills.
• Proficiency with key engineering tools such as Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, Python, windPRO.

RINA is currently recruiting for a Senior Wind Consultant to join its office in Delhi within the Renewable Energy Engineering Division.

Mission

As Senior Wind Consultant, you'll provide engineering advice and technical solutions to a wide range of clients on wind projects and portfolios across the globe, including lender's technical advisor assignments, technical due diligence, and owner's engineer activities. Depending on your location and experience, there may also be opportunities for international site inspections.

You'll guide junior and mid-level engineers, contribute strategic input during project development and execution, and help ensure engineering activities meet the highest standards of quality, safety, compliance, and technical rigour throughout the full project lifecycle.

You'll join RINA's global Wind Discipline, a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team working at the forefront of the energy transition. We're focused on finding the best fit for our team, so we welcome hybrid working arrangements and are open to applications from across India.

Key Accountabilities

• Assess clients’ needs and translate them into clear and concise recommendations within proposals for new work, technical reports and/or other engineering documentation;
• Work as an effective and collaborative member of multi-disciplinary teams;
• Communicate clearly and effectively with both clients and colleagues, via conference calls, emails and reports;
• Operate with autonomy and take responsibility for the completion and performance of assigned projects, under the coordination of the Project Manager;
• Plan and evaluate technical solutions: engineering consultants find unique ways to resolve technical issues without affecting the overall completion deadline or affecting the involvement from other departments or external companies;
• Develop project schedules and deliverable timelines; successfully managing the delivery of assignments on time and to budget, meeting client expectations;
• Support proposals and bids for new assignments by drafting scopes of work and execution plans that meet client requirements;
• Conduct local and international site inspections, depending on candidate location and experience;
• Support the continued development of more junior team personnel, providing technical guidance;
• Support managers in cultivating new competencies within the team and in delivering technical training;
• Undertake quality assurance of technical deliverables to ensure the highest standard. Ensure that all assigned activities are executed in accordance with RINA’s Quality Policy;
• Support business development activities, building relationships with clients and helping to generate new business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's degree(s) in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related fields.
• 8+ years of technical experience in renewables, preferably with a focus on wind technologies.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills in English. Ability to engage effectively with clients, contractors and stakeholders.
• Strong expertise in feasibility studies, design review, grid integration and technical due diligence.
• Proficiency with key engineering tools is desirable (e.g. Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, Python, windPRO, Meteodyn).
• Familiarity with key design standards (e.g. IEC standards, Eurocodes, environmental and HSE regulations).
