Amazon is seeking a Sr. WHS Manager to lead health and safety for Quick Commerce sites and third-party operations in Bengaluru.
You will implement safety policies, perform risk assessments, and drive continuous improvement to reduce WHS risks. You will train Operations leaders, audit sites, mentor a WHS team, and collaborate with Design, Launch, Legal, and Engineering to integrate safety at all project stages.
The Sr. WHS (Workplace Health and Safety) Manager will be primarily responsible for managing all health and safety matters for our Quick Commerce sites and third-party operations. The individual will implement Amazon's safety policies and ensure compliance with all applicable local and regional regulations. Leveraging lean principles and kaizens, this individual will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce WHS risks in our processes, ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for associates and contractors. The Sr. WHS Manager must demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations team, influencing change through comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis. The Sr. WHS Manager must be an effective communicator, delivering clear, concise, and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. This individual will be responsible for instructing and training Operations leaders on company safety policies and assisting regional teams in incorporating safety standards at their sites. The Sr. WHS Manager will identify best practices and incorporate them into standards to continuously improve company safety policies. This role requires excellent safety program knowledge and relevant safety, environmental, and ergonomic expertise, demonstrated through direct engagement with Operations. Additionally, the Sr. WHS Manager will support WHS activities and programs related to new expansions and launches in the region, ensuring that new projects are executed safely without delays due to safety concerns. This individual will work closely with Building Design, Launch, DCS, Legal, and Engineering teams to provide WHS assessments at different phases. The Sr. WHS Manager will lead a team of WHS professionals responsible for auditing Quick Commerce sites and third-party sites. This individual must create and execute leadership development plans for team members, communicate expectations, provide frequent and appropriate feedback, and ensure the team is executing to the core competencies of an Amazon WHS professional. The Sr. WHS Manager must also demonstrate the ability to assess WHS talent and select appropriate bench strength to meet current and future business needs.
