Job summary

Amazon Retail Business Services seeks a Senior UX Designer to lead the design of AI-powered automation products. You will own the end-to-end user experience for enterprise-scale solutions leveraging LLMs and AI to automate complex business processes for internal users and selling partners.

You'll collaborate with product managers, applied scientists, and engineers, define design systems, mentor junior designers, and establish UX metrics to quantify impact across multiple surfaces.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of UX designer or interaction designer experience.
• Knowledge of best practices for information architecture and design.
• Have an online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating end-to-end, user-centered design solutions across desktop and mobile.
• Experience shipping innovative, successful consumer products.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end UX design for AI/ML-powered automation products — from discovery research through high-fidelity prototypes and production handoff.
• Define interaction patterns and design frameworks for LLM-powered interfaces (conversational AI, agent-based workflows, human-in-the-loop review systems).
• Conduct and synthesize user research to identify pain points, validate design hypotheses, and drive data-informed design decisions.
• Partner with Product Managers, Applied Scientists, and Software Engineers to translate complex technical capabilities into intuitive user experiences.
• Establish and maintain scalable design systems that ensure consistency across multiple automation tools and surfaces.
• Present design work and rationale to senior leadership, advocating for the customer perspective.
• Mentor junior designers and raise the UX bar across the organization.
• Define UX success metrics and work with data teams to measure design impact.

We're seeking a Senior UX Designer to lead the design of next-generation AI-powered automation products within Retail Business Services (RBS). You'll own the end-to-end user experience for enterprise-scale solutions that leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI technologies to automate complex business processes across Amazon. This is a high-impact role where you'll shape how internal users and selling partners interact with cutting-edge GenAI capabilities.

Key job responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

• 10+ years of UX designer or interaction designer experience
• Knowledge of best practices for information architecture and design
• Have an online portfolio or samples of work on resume, demonstrating experience creating great end-to-end, user-centered design solutions and patterns, across desktop and mobile devices
• Experience shipping innovative, successful consumer products

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or above in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or Master's degree
• Experience designing for AI/ML products — conversational interfaces, recommendation systems, automation workflows, or human-in-the-loop review tools
• Familiarity with LLM capabilities and constraints as they relate to UX (e.g., prompt-driven interactions, confidence thresholds, error handling for non-deterministic outputs)
