Job summary

Sage in Bengaluru is seeking a Senior UX Designer to shape a high-quality SaaS solution and ensure intuitive user experiences across web and mobile. You will lead design efforts from planning through development, collaborating with product, design, and engineering teams.

In this hybrid role, you’ll drive user research, create wireframes and prototypes in Figma, and champion AI-enabled features with transparent UX. A strong portfolio and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in design or related field.
• 5+ years of UX design experience involving web/enterprise software.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver end-to-end design from research to final specs.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: partner with product management to set vision and priorities for UX in business apps.

Job description

As a Senior UX Designer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of a high-quality SaaS solution, ensuring it is intuitive and user-friendly as consumer applications. You will collaborate closely with other designers, product leaders, and engineers to create experience visions and bring our vision to life, leading design efforts throughout the planning and development lifecycle to create compelling and effective user experiences.

Location: Bangalore, India. This is a hybrid role, three days per week in the office.

Required Skills

• Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Design, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, or related fields, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• 5+ years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, or similar role, participating in the complete product development lifecycle of several successfully launched web and/or enterprise software applications.
• Proficiency in a variety of design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Miro, etc.
• Practical experience using AI tools to speed up design workflows (ideation, prototyping, research), alongside the ability to design trustworthy, transparent user experiences for AI-powered product features. Share effective practices that improve team speed and capability.
• Fluency in user-centered design best practices and trends across web and mobile platforms, as well as knowledge of usability principles and techniques.
• Familiarity with the technical considerations and technologies needed when designing for web and mobile platforms.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and persuasion skills with cross-functional teams and stakeholders; experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for the implementation of designs.
• Strong bias for action; ability to juggle multiple priorities and deliver in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proven ability to move forward while navigating ambiguity with minimal direction.
• A compelling online portfolio of sketches, wireframes, prototypes, hi-res comps, etc., that clearly express your ability to create successful user-centered design solutions.

Nice to Have

• Significant experience with cloud financial and/or operational management application solutions, and how AI/ML can play a role in user's experiences.
• Cross-functional product leadership. Influence priorities and trade-offs with product and engineering leaders. Surface dependencies, risks and unresolved decisions early; create shared clarity through strong storytelling, prototypes and decision-ready recommendations.

• Standards and Guidelines: Understand and follow the appropriate design systems, influencing and evolving design standards and guidelines to improve overall user experience quality. Balance consistency with platform realities while raising the quality of the broader Sage experience.
• Usability and Evaluation: Apply usability heuristics and current design best practices to evaluate new and existing features, offering viable suggestions for improvements.
• Communication: Effectively communicate conceptual ideas, design rationale, and specifics of the user-centered design process to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Adaptability: Navigate ambiguity and minimal direction, excelling in rapidly evolving environments while balancing business needs and technology constraints.
• Ownership through delivery: Stay engaged from concept through implementation and post-launch learning. Review built experiences, resolve design issues, and ensure that intended customer and business outcomes remain visible as scope and constraints evolve.
