Role & Responsibilities
  • Lead small to medium urban planning and design projects, owning concept to detail stages.
  • Develop master planning and urban design concepts using 3D and digital media.
  • Produce drawings, graphics, mapping, models and reports, ensuring quality against Atkins standards.
  • Lead Middle East projects, reporting to Practice Lead.
  • Draft technical reports and contractual documents with minimum guidance.
  • Collaborate with senior planners and designers, delegating to junior team members.
  • Support bid and proposal development to grow urban planning and design business.
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Urban Planning/Urban Design from a reputed university.
  • Minimum eight years of professional experience in master planning, with Middle East experience an advantage.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Design or Architecture accepted with relevant project experience.
  • Chartered status is advantageous.
Technical Competency
  • Experience in urban design, master planning and strategic planning projects.
  • Strong grasp of regulation and best practice, with problem‑solving ability.
  • Proficiency in GIS (Q‑GIS, ArcGIS Pro), BIM, AutoCAD, Adobe software, and advanced Excel.
  • Knowledge of Rhino, Grasshopper, and BIM modelling for urban infrastructure.
Behavioural Competency
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication.
  • Team player with initiative and logical project delivery approach.
  • Proactive time, resource, and budget management.
  • Leadership in small work groups and commitment to design standards.
