Job description

Reports to: Director of Leadership Programs

For more than 40 years, Women’s World Banking has designed and delivered financial solutions, technical assistance, and leadership programs that dismantle systemic barriers for low-income women in emerging markets.

Our leadership training initiatives focus on building a sustainable pipeline of gender-diverse talent and equipping senior policymakers and financial institution executives with the tools to champion women’s financial inclusion. Through innovative, action-oriented programs often run in partnership with leading academic institutions, our leadership training programs empower leader pairs (senior executives and emerging women leaders) to drive organizational and policy-level change.

We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Senior Training Specialist to support the end-to-end curriculum design, delivery, and evaluation of Women’s World Banking’s global leadership programs.

In this high-impact, highly visible role, you will help shape and facilitate interactive, blended learning experiences for senior- and working-level leaders across central banks, financial regulatory authorities, and financial service providers worldwide. You will work closely with the Director, Leadership Training Programs and WWB Institute staff as well as external faculty, executive coaches, and global participants to ensure our programs translate directly into actionable workplace and policy outcomes.

The perfect candidate has a background in adult learning. They are dynamic and engaging without dominating the classroom. They have previously worked with very senior audiences, and they demonstrate cultural sensitivity in their communication style. They thrive in fast-paced environments, but they can also make time for big-picture thinking and strategic planning when needed. They are self-directed but highly communicative, and they can quickly build trust working remotely. They don’t mind doing light coordination work when needed, and feel confident using AI to support such work.

  • Adapt and curate interactive training modules, toolkits, and pre/post-session materials covering topics such as inclusive policy design, executive sponsorship, communication, negotiation, and strategic influence.
  • Ensure learning assets reflect adult learning principles, action-learning methodologies, and global best practices in gender-diverse leadership.
  • Collaborate with academic partners and internal subject matter experts to integrate regional case studies and emerging financial inclusion data into course materials.
  • Program Facilitation & Delivery
  • Co-facilitate interactive live virtual sessions, peer-learning activities, and workshop discussions for cohorts of international leaders.
  • Lead on the logistics and delivery of both online and in-person learning.
  • Guide participants through the action-learning process, ensuring excellent learner experience from first engagement to course wrap up.
  • Participant Engagement & Relationship Management
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for program cohorts, delivering clear pre-course orientations, communications, and ongoing learner support.
  • Coordinate executive coaching sessions and advisory sessions.
  • Foster an inclusive, psychologically safe online and in-person environment that encourages open peer exchange across diverse cultural contexts.
  • Manage the online learning management platform.
  • Monitor participant progress, session attendance, and assignment completion across virtual learning platforms.
  • Collect, analyze, and synthesize participant feedback and impact metrics to measure learning transfer and career progression.
  • Recommend continuous improvements to course structure, platform usability, and facilitation approaches based on cohort feedback.
Required Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience: 8+ years of professional experience in training, instructional design, adult learning, or executive education, preferably within international development, financial inclusion, or corporate organizational culture and talent development.
  • Facilitation Skills: Ability to co-deliver engaging, highly interactive virtual and in-person workshops for international, cross-cultural audiences.
  • Subject Matter Familiarity: Understanding of core leadership topics and a strong commitment to women's financial inclusion and economic empowerment.
  • Tech Savvy: Hands-on experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Teams), and collaborative tools (Survey Monkey). Highly fluent in the MS Office Suite is essential - in particular designing how to present new learning materials. Experience creating automation of workflows using AI tools would be beneficial.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and spoken English skills; ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with senior executive stakeholders.
  • Global Mindset: Experience working with stakeholders in emerging markets (Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, Latin America, Middle East).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Qualification in adult learning, such as a PGCE (PCET); learning and development, such as CIPD; or coaching.
  • Ideally with prior experience working alongside central banks, ministries of finance, microfinance institutions, or commercial banks.
Measure of Success

Within the first 75 days:

  • Build strong working relationships across the Institute, particularly with the Leadership Training Programs team, and with key internal subject matter experts and external delivery partners.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Women’s World Banking’s leadership programs, participant audiences, curricula, delivery model, learning platforms, and current program commitments.
  • Review existing learning materials and participant journeys and identify priority opportunities to strengthen instructional design, adult-learning practice, learner engagement, and consistency across programs.
  • Demonstrate readiness to co-facilitate interactive virtual and in-person learning for senior, cross-cultural audiences, including effective preparation, participant engagement, and follow-up.
  • Take ownership of core program-delivery processes, including participant communications and support, learning-platform management, coordination of coaching and advisory sessions, and tracking of attendance and assignments.
  • Establish a practical approach to using participant feedback and program data to assess learning transfer and continuously improve curriculum, facilitation, and the learner experience.
  • Fully integrate Women’s World Banking’s systems, policies, cultural values, and code of conduct into day-to-day work.
We offer comprehensive benefits including:
  • Competitive salary & top tier benefits
  • 15+ paid time off days in addition to paid sick days and holidays
  • Company closes for two paid Mental Health and Rejuvenation Weeks per year (July & December)
  • 401(k) with employer match / pension contributions where applicable
  • Company paid professional development opportunities
  • Flexible work options available, including work from home options (outside of fieldwork)
