Job summary

Citigroup Inc. in Pune invites a Test Automation Engineer to join the QA team. You will design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for web and API testing, and collaborate with developers and product managers to craft robust test strategies.

The role requires 12+ years in software testing with at least 3 years in automation, strong Selenium, Java, and REST tooling, and a mindset for continuous improvement. You will mentor junior testers and help drive CI/CD adoption.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software testing experience, with at least 3 years focused on test automation.
• Experience in Selenium including framework maintenance, framework optimization and automation test execution.
• Expertise in testing tools - Selenium, BDD, Cucumber with good concepts of Java - OOPS concepts.
• Analytical skills with a proactive problem solving approach.
• Experience in understanding business requirements and testing techniques.
• Good hands-on in writing test scenarios.
• Experience in webservice automation using Rest Assured or Postman.
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD practices.
• SQL knowledge for relational databases testing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaborative work style.

We are seeking a skilled Test Automation Engineer to join our QA team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automated testing, with the ability to design, implement, and maintain robust test automation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for different use cases - web, API testing etc.
• Identify manual testing processes that can be automated and implement effective automation solutions
• Create and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and create comprehensive test strategies
• Perform manual testing when necessary, especially for exploratory testing and edge cases
• Analyze test results, report bugs, and work with development teams to resolve issues
• Continuously improve the automation framework and testing processes
• Stay up-to-date with the latest testing tools, technologies, and best practices
• Mentor junior QA team members in automation practices and tools

Required Qualifications:

• 12+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 3 years focused on test automation
• Experience in Test Automation using Selenium including Framework maintenance, Framework Optimization and Automation Test Execution.
• Expertise in testing tools - Selenium, BDD, Cucumber with good concepts of Java - OOPS concepts
• Analytical skills with a proactive problem solving approach, embrace knowledge attitude
• Experience in understanding the business requirements and come up with suitable testing techniques
• Good hands-on in writing test scenarios
• Experience in webservice Automation using Rest Assured/Postman
• Familiarity with DevOps methodologies especially around continuous integration and delivery
• String knowledge in testing relational databases using SQL.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• ISTQB certification or equivalent
• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner)
• Knowledge of database (Oracle, Mongo) testing and queries
• Solid understanding of payments industry, including various payment systems and processes
• Familiarity with ISO 20022 standards, and their application in payments messaging
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies
