Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior Snowflake Architect to own end-to-end Snowflake architecture for enterprise-scale programs across multiple industries. You will define reference architectures, drive capability development, and lead large delivery teams while ensuring governance, security, and performance standards.

The role requires 15+ years in data engineering/analytics, 7+ years in Snowflake, and hands-on experience with modern data stack tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 15+ years overall experience in data engineering / analytics / data platform roles.
• 7+ years in Snowflake with strong architecture and delivery experience.
• Proven experience leading CoE, practice, or large delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead Snowflake CoE architecture across enterprise-scale programs.
• Define reference architectures, reusable assets, frameworks, and accelerators.
• Drive capability development, hiring strategy, and upskilling initiatives.
• Establish standards for delivery quality, security, and performance.
• Own end-to-end Snowflake architecture for enterprise-scale programs.
• Translate business goals into data platform strategies.
• Design data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, modelling, and consumption solutions.
• Lead architecture governance and design reviews.
• Lead large-scale Snowflake implementations and transformations.
• Define and track delivery KPIs, FinOps cost optimisation, and performance metrics.
• Ensure adoption of CI/CD, DataOps, and DevSecOps practices.
• Act as escalation point for complex technical challenges.
• Partner with clients on data strategies, roadmaps, and transformation journeys.
• Lead solution workshops, proposals, and executive discussions.
• Provide thought leadership in Snowflake, Data Engineering, and Analytics.
• Drive account growth through cross-selling and innovation-led proposals.
• Mentor architects and engineers across projects.
• Build internal communities around Snowflake, dbt, the modern data stack, and cloud-native data engineering.
• Promote best practices in coding, modelling, and governance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• 15+ years overall experience in data engineering / analytics / data platform roles
• 7+ years in Snowflake with strong architecture and delivery experience
• Proven experience leading CoE, practice, or large delivery teams
• Deep expertise in Snowflake, including Snowpipe, Streams & Tasks, Dynamic Tables, and Secure Sharing
• Expertise in dimensional, Data Vault, and Lakehouse data modelling
• Experience with performance tuning and cost optimisation strategies
• Experience with data governance and security, including RBAC, masking, and row/column security
• Strong experience with ELT/ETL pipelines and orchestration tools, including ADF, Airflow, dbt, Matillion, and Informatica
• Hands-on experience in client-facing consulting roles and solution design
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP ecosystems
• Exposure to GenAI / AI integration with data platforms
• Experience in domain analytics such as Insurance, BFSI, or Healthcare
• Familiarity with modern data stack tools, dbt, Python frameworks, and Spark
