Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with hospital EMR/EHR systems (EPIC or Cerner).
• Hands-on knowledge of OMOP CDM and mapping to OMOP domains.
• Experience with clinical coding systems (ICD-10, SNOMED-CT, LOINC).
• Master data management for patient identity resolution (MPI).
• Advanced Python and SQL for ETL development.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and data quality frameworks.
• GxP and data governance regulatory knowledge preferred.

Job description

Preference is given to those with academic training in health or biomedical informatics, experience with oncology or clinical research datasets, and familiarity with European hospital systems and GDPR. Daily tasks include coding, debugging hospital data issues, documenting transformation logic for audits, and collaborating with hospital and pharmaceutical partners. The position is pan-India, lasting six months with 7-10 years of experience desired.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves extracting patient EHR data from European hospitals, pseudonymising it, and transforming diagnosis, lab results, and medication codes from hospital standards (ICD-10, LOINC) to OMOP standardized vocabularies such as SNOMED-CT. The engineer will build ETL workflows for multiple clinical domains and implement data quality validation frameworks ensuring completeness and compliance with FDA/EMA standards.

Skill Requirements

Required expertise and technical skills: Candidates must have over 5 years of experience with hospital EMR/EHR systems like EPIC or Cerner, hands-on knowledge of OMOP CDM, clinical coding systems, and master data management techniques for patient identity resolution. Advanced Python and SQL skills for ETL development, familiarity with cloud platforms, and data quality frameworks are essential. Regulatory knowledge including GxP and data governance is preferred.

Other Requirements

• Hands-on OMOP CDM experience: Mapping hospital data to OMOP Common Data Model (PERSON, VISIT_OCCURRENCE, CONDITION_OCCURRENCE, DRUG_EXPOSURE, MEASUREMENT, etc.)
• Clinical coding systems: Deep familiarity with ICD-10, SNOMED-CT, and LOINC
• Master Data Management (MPI): Patient identity resolution, entity matching, deduplication, golden record creation
• Healthcare data standards: Working knowledge of HL7, FHIR, or EDI
