Job summary

Contiem, Inc. is seeking a Senior Technical Illustrator with a strong track record in creating high-quality technical illustrations for manuals and product documentation. You will work with mechanical drawings, modify graphics, and deliver diverse visuals for multiple clients.

The role requires animation experience, a client-facing mindset, and proficiency with the Adobe suite and SolidWorks Composer. You will collaborate across teams to meet budget, scope, and deadlines in a dynamic setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or illustration or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in technical illustration.
• 2+ years using SolidWorks Composer, Illustrator, and Acrobat.
• Experience creating illustrations for various documentation types.

Responsibilities

• Develop graphics to support operation, maintenance, repair and user manuals for diverse products.
• Create product illustrations and modify existing graphics from engineering drawings.
• Utilize SolidWorks Composer, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat for deliverables.
• Collaborate on layout, graphic design, and animation as needed.
• Work with clients, SMEs, and project managers in a dynamic, multi-client environment.

Position Summary

Contiem is seeking a skilled and versatile Senior Technical Illustrator with a proven track record of delivering high-quality illustrations across diverse projects for multiple clients, with varying standards and expectations. This client-facing role could involve rotating assignments and supporting multiple organizations. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic environments and proactively applies their expertise to learn and adapt to evolving client needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have:

• A strong technical illustration background, developing a variety of graphic types to support operation, maintenance, repair, and user/installation manuals for a wide variety of industrial and consumer products.
• Experience creating product illustrations, working with mechanical/engineering drawings, and modifying existing graphics.
• Considerable experience with tools such as SolidWorks Composer, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat
• Previous experience working with layout and graphic design is a plus
• Previous experience in animation is highly desired.

Experience And Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Illustration, or a related field.
• 10 + years of experience in technical illustration.
• 2+ years of experience using (all) the following applications: SolidWorks Composer, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat Professional.
• Experience developing a variety of illustrations for different types of documentation.
• Ability to interpret product information and convey it within an illustration to provide clear, concise instruction or the end user.
• Animation experience.
• Experience working in a client-facing capacity.
• Excellent interpersonal and general business communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
• Organized and attention to detail.
• Proven success working and prioritizing in an environment that is driven by budget, scope, and deadlines across multiple clients/projects.
• Proven success interacting with multiple clients, subject matter experts, and project managers.
