Worley is seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to join its Water Resources team in India, focusing on groundwater investigations, modelling and impact assessments for mining, hydrocarbons, chemicals and infrastructure.

The role requires 8+ years in hydrogeology, a Civil/Environmental/Water Resources background, leadership and strong communication, with opportunities to work on global projects within Worley’s multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Graduation in Civil, Environmental or Water Resources engineering with tertiary level qualifications in Geology/Hydrogeology from a recognised institution.
• Demonstrated numerical groundwater modelling experience.
• Proven technical leadership of projects.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in hydrogeological project lifecycle, assessments, modelling and report delivery.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Australian hydrogeology team on hydrogeology strategy, pursuits and projects across Australia.
• Provide technical input and support on projects as required.
• Plan and supervise hydrogeological projects and field investigations.
• Prepare proposals, contract documentation and technical specifications.
• Lead and contribute to multidisciplinary pursuits and team growth.
• Ensure work aligns with Worley’s QA system and OH&S guidelines.

Purpose

Worley is seeking applications from Senior Hydrogeologists / Groundwater Modellers to join our Water Resources team supporting global projects.

Worley’s Water Resources team is a diverse group of hydrogeologists, hydrologists and water engineers. Working collaboratively as one global team, we deliver water management solutions for our clients as an independent service line as well as part of larger multidisciplinary teams on a broad range of exciting projects. We are industry leaders who partner with our clients to deliver some of the most technically challenging water projects across Australia and internationally. We strive to enhance our client’s projects through integrating best practice water stewardship principles supported by technical excellence.

Working as part of a team of water professionals, we undertake groundwater resource investigations, groundwater modelling, water supply studies and impact assessments for mining, hydrocarbons, chemicals and infrastructure clients.

We are looking for applicants with relevant technical experience, excellent oral and written communication skills, emerging/strong leadership skills with a strong client focus and passion for building and working in a multi-disciplinary team environment. An innovative approach towards problem solving and the ability to develop profitable business relationships are also very important. At Worley, there are opportunities to work on existing large-scale world class projects focused on design and execution of field investigations and assessments supporting conceptual and detailed engineering design of water-related aspects on a wide variety of projects from inception to closure.

The Role

As a Senior Technical Consultant, Water Engineer with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.

The successful candidate will have the following specific accountabilities:

• Collaborate with the Australian hydrogeology team in the delivery of hydrogeology strategy, pursuits and projects across Australia.
• Provide technical input and support on projects as required.
• Planning and supervising hydrogeological projects
• Preparation of proposals, contract documentation and technical specifications.
• Contribute to multi-disciplinary pursuits and growth of the team.
• Collaboration with peers and internal clients within the Worley global business.
• Be responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of Worley’s Quality Assurance System, and
• Implement safe work practices and be responsible for personal safety. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.

About You

To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:

• Graduation in Civil, Environmental or Water Resources engineering with tertiary level qualifications in Geology/Hydrogeology from a recognised institution.
• Demonstrated numerical groundwater modelling experience
• Proven technical leadership of projects
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in:
  • whole of hydrogeological project lifecycle
  • geological and hydrogeological assessment and problem solving
  • conceptual and numerical hydrogeological modelling, and
  • supervision, review and delivery of reports.
• Experience in using numerical groundwater modelling platforms such as MODFLW and FEFLOW.
• Significant experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong communication skills and actively seeks and promotes collaboration with team members and co-workers.
• Extensive experience planning and managing field investigations for groundwater resource definition and impact assessment.
• Active in national and international hydrogeological communities.
• The candidate should be enthusiastic about developments in hydrogeology, developing capabilities, developing and implementing marketing strategies and should be capable of working at an advanced level within an experienced team.
