Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Senior Tax Analyst to join our Global Financial Services Division - Global Indirect Tax Team.

The incumbent would prepare and review complex workpapers, tax returns, audit responses, and technical research to support indirect tax compliance and planning initiatives, with a focus on sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, and excise tax in the United States.

The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore, KA-India

What you will do
Job Roles and Responsibilities
  • Preparing, reviewing, and analyzing complex indirect tax compliance filings and related work papers for sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, and excise tax.
  • Supporting audits and inquiries from tax authorities, including drafting responses and compiling supporting documentation.
  • Performing detailed research and analysis of state and local tax laws and regulations to document tax positions, assess exposure, and identify planning opportunities.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders (finance, procurement, operations) and external advisors to ensure accurate tax treatment of transactions and proper application of exemptions.
  • Supporting process improvement initiatives, including automation of indirect tax compliance, implementation of controls, and integration of tax requirements into business systems.
  • Monitoring legislative changes and modeling potential impacts on indirect tax obligations.
  • Assisting with tax planning strategies to minimize indirect tax liabilities while ensuring compliance.
What you will have
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field (required).
  • Experience: Minimum 7-10 years of experience in the field of taxation, experience in US Taxes (e.g. Sales and Use Tax, Gross Receipts Tax, and Excise Tax) preferred.
  • This position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule in the office.

  • Assists in analyzing tax liability in at least one area of the business.
  • Follows current general tax regulations as they pertain to own industry.
  • Clarifies the rationale behind specific tax rates and regulations.

  • Knowledge of the concepts, methodologies and methods of research analysis; ability to locate, interpret and evaluate research findings compiled and documented by others.

  • Researches and evaluates materials that are related to a research topic, under the guidance of a supervisor.
