Job summary

NCR Voyix is seeking an experienced infrastructure engineer to design and optimize critical server, network, and storage environments across on-premises and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS). The role emphasizes automation, scripting, and collaboration with development teams to ensure scalable, reliable services.

You will participate in on-call rotations, monitor performance, enforce security practices, and help implement disaster recovery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in infrastructure design and operations.
• Deep expertise in Windows Server and Linux OS.
• Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud (Azure/AWS).
• Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Python, Ansible).
• Industry certs (MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, AWS/Azure) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and optimization of core server, network, and storage infra in both on-premise and cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools (PowerShell, Python, Ansible) to streamline tasks and improve efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues across multi-vendor technologies.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure infra scalability and support for new applications and services.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide expert-level production support outside business hours.
• Monitor performance, capacity planning, and system tuning to optimize resources.
• Implement and enforce security best practices, compliance standards, and DR procedures.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge within the team.
• Evaluate new technologies to enhance system capabilities and reduce costs.
• Document configurations, procedures, and architectural designs thoroughly.

• Implement and enforce security best practices, compliance standards, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to enhance system capabilities and reduce operational costs.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and architectural designs thoroughly.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 4+ years of experience in the role or a related field.
• Deep expertise in Windows Server and Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu), including administration, troubleshooting, and scripting.
• Extensive experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere, Hyper‑V).
• Proven experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure and/or AWS, including IaaS, PaaS, and related services.
• Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Firewalls).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar.
• Experience with automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) is a plus.
• Familiarity with database systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
• Excellent problem‑solving skills, with a methodical approach to identifying and resolving complex technical issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator Associate) are highly desirable.
