Job summary

NVIDIA in Pune is seeking a Senior System Software Engineer for GPU Power Management to design, implement, and optimize kernel‑mode software across SOC and PMU domains. You will collaborate with hardware/firmware teams to advance power management features and ensure performance per watt on next‑generation GPUs.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in system software, strong C skills, and deep OS fundamentals, with experience in power/state machines and DVFS.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with a BS or MS in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with computer system architecture, microprocessor, and microcontroller fundamentals (caches, buses, memory controllers, DMA, etc.).
  • Strong Operating Systems fundamentals with kernel experience on Windows Operating Systems.
  • Understanding of CPU/GPU power-state machines (C-states, P-states, clock/power gating), platform power controllers, DVFS, ACPI/Modern Standby, and SOC-level low-power modes is a strong plus.
  • Strong C programming background and strength with system-level (software + hardware) debugging, especially power, performance, and thermal interactions.
  • Familiarity with platform low-power concepts, PMIC interfaces, VR efficiency tuning, residency analytics, idle-power optimization, or power telemetry debugging.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and debug kernel-mode NVIDIA software for next-generation hardware through production.
  • Develop and optimize CPU, GPU, and platform power management features, including DVFS, power states, residency improvements, and idle/active power.
  • Own bring-up and hardening of power-related kernel and firmware components across SOC, PMU, regulators, and OS frameworks.
  • Support GPU products across Desktop, Notebook, Workstation, and Data Center customers through production, optimizing performance-per-watt, thermal-aware scheduling, and system resilience.
  • Drive emulation, silicon bring-up, power/performance validation, and product hardening.
  • Collaborate globally across hardware, firmware, OS, and platform teams on end-to-end power behavior, telemetry, and optimization.

We are now looking for a Senior System Software Engineer - GPU Power Management! NVIDIA is searching for a dedicated system software engineer to join the GPU Power Management Software team in Pune. This outstanding opportunity will allow you to work alongside a group of versatile software and hardware engineers, using a wide variety of technologies. You will play a key role in power management software architecture, development, and implementation, and support the GPU architecture and validation of our next generation of processors before launch. The ideal candidate excels at combining deep technical expertise with broad interpersonal influence.

What you'll be doing:
