Job summary

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a supplier quality professional to serve as the Bechtel supplier quality point of contact on projects located in India. You will perform quality surveillance, conduct hands-on inspections, and verify that supplier equipment and materials meet procurement requirements.

You will collaborate with supplier representatives to ensure requirements are understood, witnessed, and documented.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) required.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience or 9–12 years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to review technical specifications with respect to quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Represent Bechtel as supplier quality contact on small projects.
• Perform quality surveillance and hands-on inspections of supplier equipment and materials.
• Review procurement documents with supplier representatives to ensure understanding and compliance.
• Monitor supplier activities including witnessing of operations, inspections, and tests.
• Release conforming material for shipment and coordinate with Bechtel teams for disposition of non-conformances.
• Participate in audits and provide input for future supplier quality improvements.

Job Summary

In this role, you will represent Bechtel as the supplier's project quality point of contact. You will perform quality surveillance and hands on inspections to verify that supplier equipment, material, documentation, and personnel activities conform to the requirements of procurement documents. You will work with supplier representatives to ensure requirements are understood and implemented.

Major Responsibilities

• On a small sized project, represents Bechtel as the supplier's prime contact with respect to supplier quality and performs quality surveillance activities defined by the assignment scope to verify that supplier furnished equipment and material conforms to the technical and quality requirements of the procurement documents


• Reviews the procurement document requirements with supplier representatives to ensure they are understood and implemented


• Monitors supplier personnel activities including witnessing of operations, inspections, examinations, or tests to verify procurement document requirements have been met


• Performs hands on inspections to verify by re-examination the efficacy of supplier inspection efforts and to provide assurance of the conformance of equipment or materials to procurement document requirements


• Reviews supplier generated quality verification documentation to verify conformance to procurement document requirements


• Rejects material found nonconforming and collaborates with the supplier and project supplier quality personnel to obtain a course of supplier action which facilitates satisfactory disposition of disclosed non-conformances


• Releases conforming material for shipment and notifies other Bechtel functional organizations to assist in coordination of their activities


• Evaluates supplier's conformance to specified quality criteria on a specific assignment or group of assignments to provide input to recommendations for placement of future orders


• Conducts surveys or audits or surveys of suppliers, when assigned


• Participates as an audit team member or technical resource for nuclear material and/or quality program audits

Education And Experience Requirements

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge And Skills

• Reviews material requisitions including technical specifications with respect to quality requirements and participates with Engineering in determining the levels of surveillance required and establishing witness and hold points.


• Assists in the development of the final bid list and the selection of a recommended bidder


• Assists with the establishment of Quality Surveillance levels required for each purchase


• Participates in pre-award and post-award meetings/conferences with suppliers to review Area Supplier Quality's right of access, release for shipment authority, and notification on witness and hold points during quality surveillance activities


• Prepares quality surveillance and capability survey assignments for execution by the assigned Area Supplier Quality Specialists


• Investigate quality issues reported to the Supplier Quality Manager on equipment/materials where quality surveillance has been performed. Available documents such as UOS&Ds, Field Change Notices, back charge notices, NCR & Deviation Report registers, etc. should be utilized during the investigation process


• Review, edit, accept and distribute reports in accordance with this Manual and Project Procedures. Ensure survey and audit reports are approved and then posted into GSIS


• Regularly check anomaly code information and assignment information which has been siphoned from Quality Surveillance Reports into SQEAS is accurate and make any necessary corrections


• Provide project direction to Supplier Quality Representatives that carry assignments for Project
