Job summary

Worley in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our offshore projects team. You will deliver civil structural engineering services and work with Sesam GeniE, FEMAP, STAAD-Pro, and SACS.

The role requires 14+ years of experience, offshore platforms, jackets, and familiarity with design codes; you will manage designs within time and budget, support QA, and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of SACS suite of software experience is essential.
• More than 14 years of experience, including 10 years in conceptual studies, FEED, and detailed design of substructure, deck and bridges; offshore projects (FPSO/FLNG) mandatory.
• Experience in Jacket design is an added advantage.
• 10+ years Oil and Gas industry experience.
• A recognized B.Tech/M.Tech degree in the relevant discipline or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide civil structural engineering services to Worley and clients; may provide technical support within the structural team.
• Produce structural models on Sesam GeniE, FEMAP, STAAD-Pro, and SACS; develop local calculations.
• Structural analysis for new platforms and platform modifications.
• Manage structural design and any design changes within budget and schedule.
• Promote cost reduction and productivity initiatives.
• Technical supervision of project structural designers and drafters; ensure QA compliance.

The Role

As a Senior Structural Engineer with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.

• You will provide Civil Structural Engineering services to Worley, and its customers and may provide technical support within the Civil Structural team. As Structural Engineer you will undertake specific design tasks relating to offshore structural engineering analysis and design Specific Accountabilities
• To produce structural/system models on Sesam GeniE, FEMAP, STAAD-Pro, and SACS. Also, should have fair knowledge in developing the local calculations using spreadsheets/Mathcad etc.Knowledge of writing Java scripts for Sesam GeniE is preferred.
• Structural analysis for New platform/ platform modification.
• Manage structural engineering design and any design changes within budget and schedule.
• Promote cost reduction and productivity enhancing initiatives.
• Technical supervision of project designated structural designers and draftsmen in the execution of their duties.
• Benchmark structural design/drafting to identify areas of improvements.
• Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the Project.
• Applicants require experience in working in a structural engineering team within a large multi discipline project team.
• The role mandates previous experience in minimum facility platform design and including the substructure, topsides and bridges.Additional Responsibilities:
• A comprehensive understanding of structural analysis in the areas of dynamic loading, collapse analysis, spectral fatigue analysis, fire and explosion design, dropped object etc.
• Conversant with API, DNV, AISC, BS codes.

About You

To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:
