Job summary

AECOM's Enterprise Capabilities team in Bangalore/Gurugram is seeking a Senior Structural Designer for materials handling projects. You will develop detailed structural models and drawings using AutoCAD, Advance Steel and Revit, and coordinate with engineers across disciplines.

You will manage model registers, support design reviews, and contribute to digital workflows while delivering buildable, clash-free deliverables for conveyors, transfer towers, and related structures.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in Structural Design, Civil Engineering, or drafting.
• Minimum 10 years' structural design and detailing experience, including materials-handling, mining or heavy-industrial work.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Advance Steel for structural steel modelling and detailing.
• Strong experience producing coordinated structural drawings and 3D models through detailed design and construction support.
• Ability to interpret engineering calculations and design information and translate them into accurate, buildable deliverables; fluency in English and collaboration with international stakeholders.

Job Description

• Develop detailed structural models and drawings for materials-handling projects using AutoCAD, Autodesk Advance Steel and Revit. Model structural steelwork and reinforced-concrete arrangements accurately in accordance with the engineer's design information, project standards and client requirements.
• Prepare general arrangements, details, schedules and coordinated deliverables for conveyors, transfer towers, crushing stations, platforms and associated structures. Use Navisworks or equivalent federated-model tools to coordinate interfaces and resolve clashes.
• Work closely with structural engineers and other disciplines to interpret calculations, design intent, loads, equipment interfaces and constructability constraints. Participate in design reviews and provide practical input on detailing, fabrication, erection, access and maintainability.
• Manage model and drawing registers, revision control and document workflows for assigned work packages. Check your own work thoroughly and, where authorised, review and guide the work of junior designers.
• Contribute to standard details, modelling libraries, digital workflows and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• A diploma, advanced diploma or degree in Structural Design, Civil Engineering, drafting or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years' structural design and detailing experience, including substantial materials-handling, mining or heavy-industrial work.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Advance Steel for structural steel modelling and detailing.
• Strong experience producing coordinated structural drawings and 3D models through detailed design and construction support.
• Ability to interpret engineering calculations and design information and translate them into accurate, buildable deliverables. Professional fluency in written and spoken English and confidence collaborating with international stakeholders.
