Job summary

Stantec is looking for a Structural Detailer to deliver construction drawings and documentation for reinforced concrete and steel structures. This role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in energy and industry projects, ideally with knowledge of Canadian, American, UK, or Australian detailing practices.

The successful candidate will work with Revit and AutoCAD to create accurate and clear designs, ensuring environmental considerations are accounted for throughout. This full-time position is based in Pune, India.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years experience in reinforced concrete and steelwork detailing in Energy & Industry projects.

• Competent with essential software like Revit and AutoCAD.

Primary Purpose Of The Job

To provide professional engineering detailing services to Stantec’s global regional office to help them minimize risks and maximize profits for Consultancy contracts.

To ensure the above requirements, the individual must produce conceptual and detailed drawings, reinforcement, and steelwork drawings as well as the associated schedules while complying with health and safety requirements, design specifications, and standards pertaining to the contract.

Key Accountabilities

• The Structural Detailer shall be responsible for delivery of good for construction drawings and associated documentation for Reinforced Concrete, Steel structures.
• Produce reinforced concrete and steelwork detailed drawings which are clear, accurate, cost effective, meet the requirements of the specification and which can be constructed and commissioned safely and effectively.
• Consider environmental issues in all design activities.
• Comply with standard practices and details wherever possible.
• Ensure that previous similar solutions are adapted and utilized wherever possible.
• Immediately report design problems or deficiencies to supervisor and project manager.
• Maintain competitiveness by ensuring drawings are produced within the time durations indicated.
• Work to procedures and processes to ensure the continuing development of the department.
• Coordinate drawing production with all other project disciplines both internal and external to STANTEC.
• Ensure drawing review procedures are followed.
• Maintain drawing files and records throughout the duration of contracts.
• Need to work off-hours for client co-ordination: occasionally.

Person Specifications

• Relevant BE/diploma/ITI in Civil engineering.
• Experience of Canada/USA/UK/Australia detailing practices will be preferred.
• Minimum experience of 10 years in reinforced concrete and steelwork detailing in Energy & Industry projects (Oil and Gas, Heavy Industrial process, Power generation, Telecommunication, Dams).
• Understand the principles of engineering drawing conception and development.
• Understand the company’s drawing and design development procedures.
• Competent with following software.

Essential Software: Revit 3D and 2D, AutoCAD 2D.
Desirable Software: CadWorx Structure 2019, Bentley Prostructures - Connect Edition, Autodesk NavisWorks manager.

Additional Skills

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to rationalize drawings.
• Knowledge of the general drawing requirements of a construction team.
• Ability to communicate technical proposals clearly and to understand direction by others.
