Job summary

Google LLC is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer in Napa, Data Intelligence, to lead high-impact projects across distributed systems. You will guide a distributed team, design scalable solutions, and drive deployment and maintenance of core infrastructure.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years of software development, 7+ years in large-scale systems, and strong C++ experience. You will work within the Core team to advance Google’s data storage and processing capabilities.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 7 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
• 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
• Experience in distributed databases and large-scale distributed systems.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
• Experience in SQL, database internals, storage systems.
