Job summary

Kandou AI seeks a Principal/Senior Staff Engineer to develop embedded firmware for our memory fabric with DDR interfaces. You will build firmware modules and services for high-performance, chiplet-based AI memory systems and work across architects, QA, and product teams.

The role requires hands-on DDR controller/PCIe/NVMe firmware, Bare-metal and RTOS/Zephyr experience, and collaboration with multi-site teams to deliver differentiating features."

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Electronics Engineering or Computer Science at minimum, with M.S. preferred.
• 8-15 years of firmware development for servers, memory controllers, and DDR interfaces.
• Experience with C/C++ for firmware and RDOS/Zephyr OS environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware modules and services for Kandou Memory fabrics with DDR interfaces.
• Implement features in DDR memory controller, PCIe/NVMe contexts and SDKs.

The responsibility of this role is to develop firmware modules and services for Kandou’s Memory fabrics products with DDR interfaces

Firmware is responsible for implementing and supporting the major differentiating features of Kandou’ products.

• Strong academic and technical background in Electronics & Computer engineering. At a minimum, a Bachelor’s in EE or Computer Science is required, and a Master’s is preferred.
• Minimum 8-15 years’ experience developing firmware for Server, Memory controllers and DDR PHY programming

Required experience

• Hands-on experience designing and developing embedded firmware for DDR memory controller/PCIe/NVME protocols with proficiency in C (preferred) or C++, including development of C-based SDKs.
• Experience with Bare-metal and RTOS/Zephyr OS firmware development and enablement
• Familiar with SoC interfaces to common IP blocks such as PCIe Controllers, NVME Controllers, DDR controllers, AMBA/AHB interfaces, on-chip memory interfaces, and other similar interfaces
• Work with various cross-functional groups such as architect, other development teams, QA/validation, product management and customer teams across various sites

Preferred experience

• Experience with storage or SSD firmware, including NVMe, PCIe, CXL or flash management concepts.
• Hands-on experience with simulation or virtual platform–based development (e.g., Renode, QEMU, or similar)
