Qualifications

• MSc in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or Statistics is highly preferred, or related quantitative discipline.
• 7+ years in software development.
• Must be analytical, detail-oriented and able to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
• Deep understanding and experience with statistical modelling, regression analysis, and mathematics.
• Ability to formulate and optimize algorithms.
• Ability to create clear and insightful data visualizations to communicate complex findings.
• Strong programming skills in R; Python is nice to have.
• Experience with cloud providers such as AWS and SQL databases.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and building scalable calculations pipelines.

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Mathematical Expert for our Calculations & Trending product. To advance development of robust, scalable and scientifically accurate Calculations & Trending platforms and digital products, specifically focusing on complex biological and pharmaceutical assay calculations (e.g. 4PL, Logit-log, ELISA). This individual will bridge the gap between our business departments (e.g. R&D), data science, software architecture and product development, ensuring our solutions are scientifically sound and integrated seamlessly into our digital ecosystem. This role is critical for accelerating product innovation, maintaining data integrity, and elevating the technical capabilities of our broader development team, directly impacting the quality and speed of the delivery.

What will you do

• Understand and Document calculations algorithms and process thoroughly
• Work with Business SME's to understand the calculations and help troubleshoot issues/bugs found
• Write efficient and maintainable code following software engineering practices
• Working with version control systems (GitHub) for deploying and versioning the code
• Participate in Agile ceremonies with the team to execute on the prioritized projects and features
• Implement automated testing and monitoring techniques to ensure accuracy and reliability of our systems
• Support the design and architecture of the supported systems

What should you have

• MSc in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or Statistics is highly preferred, or related quantitative discipline.
• 7+ years in software development
• Must be analytical, detail-oriented and able to balance multiple projects simultaneously
• Deep understanding and experience with statistical modelling, regression analysis, and mathematics
• Ability to formulate and optimize algorithms
• Ability to create clear and insightful data visualizations to communicate complex findings
• Ability to collaborate both with technical and business teams
• Passion for good quality code and proven experience designing and implementing scalable systems
• Strong problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills
• Strong programming skills in R, (Python is nice to have)
• Experience with working with legacy code and building scalable solutions which includes calculations pipelines, dataset transformation and statistical modelling algorithms
• Experience with test-driven development and verifying statistical models
• Familiar with building REST API for data and models exposure
• Experience in developing and validating algorithms for pharmaceutical and biological assays, such as 4PL and logit-log models
• Experience in laboratory environment
• Experience within the pharmaceutical industry
• Experience with software validation
• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Experience with cloud providers such as AWS including services relevant to data processing and storage (e.g. S3, EC2, Lambda functions)
