Job summary

BNY is seeking a Senior Specialist, Accounting to join the Corporate Controllers COE Product Accounting team in Pune. You will oversee daily P&L production for FX, IRD, FI, EQ and Capital Markets, ensuring accuracy, sign-off, and strong control environments.

You will govern month-end close, price testing, and exposure management while coordinating with Front Office, Technology and Finance. The role demands CA qualification, solid product knowledge, and proactive process improvement.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant with 3–5 post-qualification Product Control experience.
• Deep understanding of Financial products (FX, IRD, Fixed Income, Equities).
• AI skills and working knowledge of latest tools/technologies.
• Exposure to Front, Back Office and Financial systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Highly self-driven, detail-oriented, and able to review critical work independently.
• Experience in a fast-moving, multinational/functional organization.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily P&L production for FX, IRD, FI&EQ, and Capital Markets with validation and sign-off.
• Manage balance sheet substantiation, journal entries, trade and GL reconciliations, price testing.
• Govern daily controls and month-end close; review SOX controls and price valuations.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Tech, Ops and Finance to ensure timely issue management and process enhancements.
• Support audits with documentation and analysis.
• Ensure robust, efficient, and well-controlled accounting processes.
• Coordinate with global SMEs and overseas partners on initiatives and automation opportunities.
• Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency in reporting and controls.

Job Description:

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Specialist, Accounting to join our Corporate Controllers – COE Product Accounting - Global Markets FX and Corporate Treasury team. This role is located in Pune.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

• Oversee and contribute to the daily P&L production for (FX, IRD, FI&EQ and Capital Markets) including P&L validation, analytical review and investigation of Flash (Traders) vs Actual (Finance) P&L, commentary and sign-off
• Manage the control environment for the products (FX, IRD, FI&EQ, FI) balance sheet substantiation, Journal entries, accounting activities, trade and GL level reconciliations, price testing, daily P&L production, breaks investigation, and partnering with the business with new product implementations and regional expansion.
• Govern daily controls and month end close process, including review of daily SOX controls, independent price valuations, FX exposure management, Loan Accounting, Investment securities portfolio Accounting, Value at risk backtesting, Hedging, monitoring and resolving on-going issues
• Work closely with Front office, technology, operations and extended Finance teams to ensure timely issues management, development and enhancements to the existing process
• Support internal and external audits with relevant documentation and analysis.
• Ensure the accounting processes are robust, efficient, and well controlled
• Work closely with the global process SMEs and overseas partners for the ongoing initiatives and provide support as required
• Contribute to project and process improvement initiatives as required. Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency in reporting and control processes.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
