Job summary

Cohesity in Pune, India seeks world-class software engineers to develop our converged storage architecture, including scalable file systems and data security features. You will diagnose complex code, understand scalability and performance, and work within Cohesity's Software Engineering Quality unit.

The role covers on-prem and SaaS testing, requiring collaboration with engineering, documentation, and customer solutions teams to deliver high-quality products efficiently.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science with 7+ years of experience or MS in Computer Science with 5–8 years.
• 5+ years of testing systems products (storage, networking, virtualization) and cloud technologies.
• 2+ years experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Knowledge of Linux and shell scripting.
• Programming experience in Go or Python.
• Test automation frameworks PyTest and Ginkgo.
• Knowledge of hypervisors ESXi, Hyper-V, KVM.
• Strong QA methodologies, processes and test tools.
• Ability to work in a startup-like environment.
• Excellent troubleshooting across software and hardware components (Kubernetes, cloud workloads).
• Experience with distributed systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own product areas and lead the test effort for features across on-prem and SaaS in Data Security domain.
• Collaborate with engineering during design and implementation to develop end-to-end test strategy.
• Automate test cases and run manual/automated tests; sustain CI/CD environment.
• Analyze failures, file defects, and drive resolution with developers and teams.
• Mentor and support team members and ensure high-quality product delivery.

This position includes everything from building and testing the core of our infinitely scalable file system, exploring huge information sets, to presenting complex information in an easily digestible format for our customers. You are not only a Software Engineer who designs and implements features but should have knack of diagnosing problems in large bodies of complex code, Understand scalability and performance and work on fixes with rapid turnaround time and high quality. Your will be part of our Software engineering Quality business unit in Cohesity

HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE:

• Own product areas and lead the test effort of one or more features for our on-prem as well as SaaS offerings in Data Security Domain.
• Work with the engineering team during the feature design and implementation phases to develop:
• Build methodology (design the test approach) and strategy to test the feature end-to-end.
• Test the viability of potential plans.
• Collaborate with other testing members, developers, technical writers, and customer solutions engineers to ensure the company delivers high-quality products to our customers.
• Implement multiple iterations of the test plan by running manual and automated test cases.
• Analyze failures and root cause issues, file defects, follow up with developers, documentation, and other teams on the resolution.
• Automate test cases.
• Supervise and manage a continuous integration and control environment
• Administer and maintain the infrastructure (prem and cloud cluster) used is system and scale testing
• Mentor and support team members.

WE'LD LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

• BS in Computer Science with 7/10 yr experience or MS in Computer Science with 5/8 yr experience
• 5+ years' experience with testing "systems" products (storage, networking, virtualization). and cloud technologies
• 2+ years of experience working on any of these cloud provider (AWS, Azure or GCP)
• Domain knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Data Protection, Data Security, Ransomware protection, Cyber Vaulting and Recovery, Filesystem, Cloud, SaaS, Platform
• Good knowledge of Linux and should be comfortable with shell scripting.
• Prior experience of programming, preferably in Go or Python
• Test automation framework experience, preferably PyTest and Ginkgo
• Knowledge of one or more Hypervisors - ESXi, HyperV, KVM.
• Have a high bar for the quality of the product.
• Creative, independent, self-motivated, and willing to learn new technology.
• Possess a good understanding of QA methodologies, processes, and test tools.
• Ability to take up a variety of roles in a startup environment.
• Excellent troubleshooting abilities spanning multiple software and hardware components (such as switches, storage systems, kernels, Kubernetes, Cloud Workloads).
• Experience with distributed systems (databases, storage, map-reduce frameworks, etc.) is a plus
• Experience with Kubernetes clusters is a plus
• Strong test planning ability is a big plus.
