Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to lead test automation efforts and drive quality across software and systems.

The role focuses on designing comprehensive testing strategies, mentoring peers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure products. You will develop automated test frameworks, perform functional and performance testing, and ensure adherence to QA standards while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software testing, including automation and manual testing.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, QA methodologies, and Agile practices.
• Proficiency in test automation tools Playwright, Selenium, JUnit, LoadRunner.
• Hands-on experience with programming languages Python, Java.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and API testing.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute automated and manual test plans for software applications.
• Design and implement test frameworks and tools to improve efficiency and coverage.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing across multiple platforms.
• Identify, document, and track defects using industry-standard tools (e.g., JIRA).
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA teams to resolve issues and improve quality.
• Monitor and analyze test results, providing actionable insights for continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with organizational quality assurance standards and best practices.
• Mentor and guide junior test engineers in testing methodologies and tools.
