Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior Software Engineer based in India to contribute to enterprise-grade software focused on virtualization, cloud technologies, and disaster recovery. You will design and build backend components, work with Java, RESTful APIs, VMware vSphere, and cloud platforms, and collaborate with distributed teams to deliver reliable software.

The role involves designing and implementing orchestration capabilities for disaster recovery control plane, writing tests, and ensuring code

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 6 years of software development experience, particularly with Java/J2EE and web technologies.
• At least 4 years of experience developing management software for VMware vSphere environments and cloud technologies.
• Strong experience developing Java-based RESTful web applications.
• Knowledge of databases, JPA, and Hibernate frameworks.
• Experience with cloud storage technologies and platforms such as Amazon S3, Azure SDK, and Google Cloud is preferred.
• Strong understanding of backend software architecture, API development, and system integration.
• Proven ability to work on complex software projects and deliver high-quality products on schedule.
• Excellent testing, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience collaborating with geographically distributed development teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement major management components for disaster recovery control plane software.
• Develop, extend, and maintain RESTful APIs, as well as client-side code that integrates with other APIs and SDKs.
• Build and maintain backend software, including new features, enhancements, bug fixes, and proof-of-concept solutions.
• Develop complex orchestration capabilities to configure and manage VMware vSphere environments, including VMs, hosts, and clusters for disaster recovery.
• Collaborate with backend, frontend developers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software within project timelines.
• Design, develop, and implement unit tests and scenario-based testing for existing code and new functionality.
• Maintain high standards of code quality through troubleshooting, debugging, automation, and code reviews.
• Participate in and lead code reviews to promote engineering best practices and maintainable software.
• Contribute to technical problem-solving and ensure reliable product performance throughout the development lifecycle.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Virtualization & Cloud) based in India.

The Senior Software Engineer will contribute to the development of enterprise-grade software solutions focused on virtualization, cloud technologies, and disaster recovery. In this hands-on engineering role, you will design and build critical backend components for a disaster recovery control plane. You will work extensively with Java, RESTful APIs, VMware vSphere, and cloud platforms to deliver reliable and scalable software. Collaborating with backend and frontend developers, as well as QA specialists, you will help bring complex technical solutions from design through implementation and testing. The role offers the opportunity to solve challenging data management problems, improve product quality, and work with modern infrastructure technologies. You will also collaborate with geographically distributed teams in a high-performance engineering environment.
