Job summary

Recast Software, a Minneapolis-based company, seeks a technical leader to drive architectural decisions and advance our end-to-end application management platform. You will collaborate with senior engineers to balance time-to-market with technical progress, mentor teammates, and champion engineering best practices.

You will own frontend/ backend development across Windows, macOS, and Linux, work with REST APIs (OData), and leverage C#/.NET Core and MS SQL Server.

Qualifications

• Experience developing for Windows, macOS and Linux.
• REST APIs experience, particularly OData v4.
• Frontend work with React.
• Cloud familiarity with Azure.

Responsibilities

Leadership Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with other senior technical leaders to update and execute on the architectural roadmap to enable Recast’s growth.
• Work with others to determine the appropriate tradeoff between time to market and technical advancement.
• With others, choose and pilot new technologies to improve team effectiveness. You’ll think creatively to address problems and partner with the team on innovative solutions.
• Lead code reviews and participate/lead in software design reviews.
• Mentor and train software engineers. You like to coach team members, and you like to be coached to grow your knowledge.
• Strong advocate of engineering best practices.

Technical Responsibilities:

• Work with the Application Workspace team to strengthen the market-leading position of our application delivery product.
• Enhance the overall capabilities of our End-to-End Application Management for Modern Hybrid Environments.
• Active member of the Application Workspace scrum team responsible for application code, test code, and overall effectiveness of software.
• Support the entire SDLC – from listening to customers, to designing, developing, and maintaining applications, to assisting support and managing the production environment.
• Expertise in the Microsoft tech stack: C#, .NET Core, etc. Additional technologies preferred.
• Strong database knowledge with MS SQL Server and SQL scripting.
• Possess both technical breadth and depth.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience with developing for Windows, macOS and Linux.
• Experience with REST APIs (OData v4).
• Expertise is front end frameworks like React.
• Experience with systems administration (Windows/macOS).
• Fundamental understanding of building cloud-based solutions (Azure).
• Experience with developing on-premises software.
